We had a candidate go in for an onsite interview for a $100k + job and he wore slippers. You've got to be kidding me! Needless to say he was not extended an offer. I guess we need to make that part of our interview preparation going forward...
How well did you do on your interview?
In my years of experience as an Executive Recruiter most candidates think they did really well on interviews and are surprised when they don't get the job. If you want to know how well you did before leaving an interview here is an excellent question to ask - "Now that we have had time to go over my background and experience in detail, how do I match up compared to your ideal/perfect candidate?"
Try this next time you interview. This should give you a good indication on how well you really did and allow you to answer any concerns the interviewer might have.
