Access Gallery: Where every artist is seen, heard and celebrated.

Access Gallery is an inclusive nonprofit organization that engages the community by opening doors to creative, educational and economical opportunities for people with disabilities to access, experience and benefit from the arts.

Every year, there are a handful of organizations that remind me why community matters.

For me, one of those organizations is Access Gallery (@accessgalleryco), where I’ve had the privilege of serving on the Board. Access Gallery creates creative, educational, and economic opportunities for artists with disabilities, helping talented individuals not only express themselves through art, but build meaningful careers through it.

In a few months, we’ll host one of my favorite Denver events: 99 Pieces of Art.

The concept is simple. Local and national artists each create a one-of-a-kind piece of artwork. The gallery fills with creativity, energy, and community. And every piece tells a story.

As a board member, this is the time of year when I make a few asks. Not because asking is easy, but because I’ve seen firsthand the impact this organization has on the artists it serves.

We’re currently looking for event sponsors for this year’s 99 Pieces of Art fundraiser. Sponsorship opportunities include recognition before and during the event, visibility across event materials, and the opportunity to align your brand with an organization that is creating meaningful opportunities for artists with disabilities.

We’re also beginning conversations with artists who may be interested in contributing a one-of-a-kind piece to this year’s event.

And while ticket information will be available soon, I’d also love to hear from anyone interested in attending and supporting the event.

If you or your organization would like to learn more about sponsorship opportunities, contributing artwork, or attending the event, please reach out. Send me a message, email me, call, or text, and I’d be happy to share additional details.

Art has a unique way of bringing people together. Access Gallery helps ensure that everyone has the opportunity to be part of that story.

Every creation starts with a story.

Artists may begin with a new character, a favorite animal, a fantasy world, an idea worth sharing, or a skill they want to strengthen. At Access Gallery, the studio provides space to experiment, develop artistic voices, and pursue the subjects that inspire them.

From colorful illustrations and imaginative creatures to self-portraits, these works-in-progress offer a glimpse into the creativity, curiosity, and self-expression that happen in the studio every day.

Angel creates entire worlds through drawing and storytelling, complete with dragons and a language of his own that continues to evolve over time.

Recently, a collector purchased one of Angel’s pieces and shared that what captivated them most was the opportunity to engage with the work in a personal way. Angel’s original language didn’t come with a translation. Instead, it opened the door for the collector to bring their own interpretation to the artwork, creating a connection that was uniquely theirs.

Because of you, artists like Angel have the space to create freely, share their ideas, and build connection through art. Your support helps provide materials, studio space, mentorship, and a creative community where artists are seen, heard, and celebrated.

Thank you for helping make those opportunities possible.

GOOD SPORTS
June 5 – July 18 at Access Gallery

This exhibition celebrates movement, play, teamwork, and the many ways artists connect to sports through their own stories and imagination.

Also on view: Kinetics on the Community Art Wall, an experimental class project led by Studio Facilitator Dez. The class focused on asking what could be possible, rather than working toward a set outcome, with artists exploring motion, rhythm, gesture, and movement as part of making art.

Pictured: Angie, Self Taught Dance by Access Gallery artist Skylar K.

Join us for First Friday on June 5 from 6–9 PM at Access Gallery.

Louis has loved drawing cars and trucks for as long as he can remember.
His work is full of detail, precision, and care. He often works on multiple drawings at once, moving between each piece as he sketches, inks, and adds color with marker.
Louis takes pride in the time he puts into every drawing and is motivated to sell his work.
Your support gives artists the space to create what they love and build real opportunities through their art.
