💙 Healing isn't just something we help others find—it's something we all need.
Every year, the JAMLAC team takes time to step away from the office for our annual Lake Day to reconnect, recharge, and enjoy time with our families. Because when we care for ourselves and each other, we're better equipped to serve our community.
A big thank you to Kathy and Jose Escobar for hosting another wonderful day of connection, laughter, and healing in nature. 🌊☀️

Justice begins long before a client ever sits down with an attorney and continues long after a case is closed. Behind every successful outcome is a community of people whose generosity makes that work possible.
Recently, more than 20 volunteers spent an evening at JAMLAC helping digitize client files. By organizing and preserving critical records, they are ensuring that case information remains secure, accessible, and available whenever it is needed. Their work allows our attorneys and legal staff to spend less time managing paperwork and more time serving individuals and families seeking justice.
Every hour volunteered saves JAMLAC valuable financial resources while expanding our capacity to serve more clients. By donating their time, our volunteers reduce operational costs and allow us to invest more of our resources where they matter most—providing high-quality legal services to individuals and families in need. To every volunteer who gave their time, thank you. Your generosity is helping make justice possible, one act of service at a time.

Sometimes, the greatest measure of impact is when those we serve choose to help others.
Recently, one of JAMLAC's current clients walked through our doors—not for a legal appointment, but to make a $1,500 donation. He currently has a U Visa application pending. Because these cases often take years to process, his legal journey is still ongoing. Yet, even while waiting, he wanted to give back so someone else could have the same opportunity to find hope, dignity, and justice.
His generosity is a powerful reminder that gratitude doesn't depend on reaching the finish line. Even in the midst of uncertainty, he chose to invest in someone else's future.
Moments like this remind us that justice creates a ripple effect. Compassion inspires generosity, generosity creates opportunity, and together we build stronger communities.
To everyone who believes in our mission, thank you. Your support makes stories like this possible. 💜

CREATIVE WAYS TO GIVE | Create a Legacy Through Your Retirement Plan
Did you know that one of the simplest ways to make a lasting impact is by naming JAMLAC as a beneficiary of your retirement account? Retirement plan gifts, such as those made through an IRA, 401(k), or 403(b), can help provide life-changing legal services to survivors of violence, immigrants, older adults, and vulnerable families—all while creating a legacy that reflects your values.
By including JAMLAC in your retirement planning, you help ensure that future generations will continue to have access to justice, compassionate legal representation, and hope. Your gift, no matter the size, can make a meaningful difference for years to come. If you'd like to learn more about including JAMLAC in your legacy plans, we'd be honored to have a confidential conversation with you and answer any questions you may have.

In one afternoon, JAMLAC staff came together to transform a corner of our back parking lot into a welcoming outdoor oasis—a space complete with benches, tables, seating, and greenery where we can gather, recharge, and connect.
There was lots of laughs, some frustration, and tired muscles, but the project created a beautiful new spaceand reflected something even more meaningful: the spirit of teamwork that defines JAMLAC. Just as we come together to serve our clients, we also come together to care for our team and build a workplace where everyone feels welcomed and supported.

For many immigrant families, accessing essential services is not always easy. Language barriers, transportation challenges, unfamiliar systems, and fear can make even routine services feel out of reach. That is why community partnerships matter.
JAMLAC was honored to partner with the Consulate of Ecuador, Ecuatorianos en Colorado, Una Mano Una Esperanza, and Latina SafeHouse to host a Mobile Consulate for Colorado's Ecuadorian community. By bringing trusted organizations together in one place, community members were able to access important consular services while also learning about legal resources, community programs, and other services available to support them and their families.
At JAMLAC, we know that legal issues rarely exist in isolation. Families often need a network of support to move forward with confidence. Whether someone comes to us seeking legal guidance, community resources, or simply a trusted place to ask questions, we believe every person deserves to be treated with dignity, compassion, and respect.
This collaboration reflects our commitment to removing barriers and making help more accessible...READ MORE https://jamlac.org/building-bridges-through-community-partnerships/
