Are you planning to attend the grand opening this Saturday?

After years of planning, the nation’s first public Nature Library is almost ready to welcome its first visitors.

Opening Saturday, August 8, the new Anythink Nature Library in Thornton reimagines what a public library can be. Set on a 15-acre campus next to the 140-acre Aylor Open Lands, the $45 million project combines traditional library services with trails, gardens, outdoor classrooms, hands-on science spaces, and a large collection of nature-focused equipment that visitors can check out with a library card.

Rather than simply creating a place to borrow books, the library was designed to help people connect with the natural world through architecture, education, and exploration. From its prairie-inspired design and geothermal heating system to its living plant wall, Indigenous Voices collection, and outdoor learning spaces, nearly every part of the project was shaped around that mission.

Part of this church campus in West Highland could soon be transformed into new housing.

Concept plans have been submitted for 3268 W. 32nd Avenue that would redevelop a portion of the property into six new detached single-family homes while preserving the existing historic church and parsonage.

To make the project possible, the applicant is proposing a Zone Lot Amendment that would divide the northern portion of the property into six new residential lots. Five of the homes would be approximately 3,000 square feet, while the northernmost home would also include an accessory dwelling unit (ADU), bringing the total number of residential units to seven.

Rather than redeveloping the entire property, the southern portion of the site would remain with the church and be converted into a new 40-space accessory parking lot with updated landscaping and stormwater improvements.

The proposal is currently under review by the City of Denver as a concept plan.

The Denver Broncos have released updated concept renderings for Burnham Yard, the team’s preferred site for a new stadium and mixed-use neighborhood in the heart of Denver.

Developed in partnership with Denver-based Tryba Architects, the updated master plan reflects additional technical analysis and extensive community feedback. The latest vision organizes the site into four districts: North End, Village Center, Turntable, and South End.

According to the Broncos, the updated design places a greater emphasis on improving quality of life for nearby residents by expanding parks and public open space, removing freight rail tracks to create the Mile High Line trail, extending Denver’s historic street network through the site, improving pedestrian safety, and directing event traffic away from existing neighborhoods. The plan now includes approximately 11 to 12 football fields of public open space.

The Broncos say the master plan will continue to evolve throughout the planning process as additional technical analysis is completed and coordination continues with the City of Denver, RTD, Denver Water, and the community.
