LOVELY DAY HAS BEEN OUT 7 YEARS TODAY 🥹
This album was made in a super short amount of time and was super fun to work on. Few things I remember!
-title track was written for csu first day acoustic performance on quad. Just about how sick it can be to say… nah im gonna have a lovely day no MATTER WHAT.
- Swimming pool ritual was inspired by a band group meditation in my nanas pool in Modesto California ( )while on our first tour!! It was fascinating to me how while just floating and orbiting our gravity kept bring us all right next to eachother. Maybe there’s science for that but I only vibes 🤷
- cartoon laughter written
Also remember recording drums for this while moved them around and knocked them over. Kinda carnivally. Very fond memory!
-pauls extreme sports montage was spawned when we watched someone (carrying THOUSANDS of dollars of guitar pedals) trip in the parking lot. Making eye contact confirming they were okay and also confirming … yes. That did not happen. No one saw. But YK someone saw. Sometimes it be like that
-Galapaghost- written after reading Galapagos by Kurt Vonnegut. Our brains may be too big for their own good. 🤷
-bearclaws the snow gleams written while camping in red feather. Sitting on a log INFESTED with ants, deciding… They ain’t hurtin nothin might as well sit here. LET YR SOUL SHINE HOMIE.
-Oceanside, Sleep floor - written after our first tour as well! Kinda like… big dreamin cause why dream small gonna wake up again anyways!! GOD IVE HAD A GOOD DAY. GOTTA HAVE A GOOD DAY.
-rowboat- MERRILY AND GENTLY DOWN THE STREAM.
- bad kitty vs. uncle Murray - my little brother had a book sitting on the stair banister for a few weeks and I’d pass it and read that title every time and think what’s this Murray guy doing to this cat? DOESNT HE UNDERSTAND ITS A CAT?? HES GONNA EAT UR SHOELACES BRUh. DONT FIGHT THE NATURE

We recorded on logic and mastered it on VHS tape giving it that lil itchy scratchy you get throughout!!
