Tough use gear for your adventure. An off-shoot of Leonard Fabrication and Design, Leonard Fabrication & Design Off Road, or LFD-OR, was born out of our love for off roading, and the hobby of fabricating parts for our own vehicles. We are dedicated to making rugged and practical off roading accessories to help take your vehicle to the net level!

Adventure doesn't happen in a parking lot.

It happens on washboard roads, rocky climbs, muddy trails, and thousands of miles of backcountry exploration. That's why every piece of LFD gear is designed with real-world adventure in mind.

From weekend camping trips to cross-country expeditions, LFD products are built to withstand the rigors of adventure so you can focus on the journey ahead.

Your rig is ready. The question is: where are you headed next?

Traction boards are one of those pieces of gear you hope you never need—until you do.

That's why we designed our Traction Board Mount to be simple, secure, and easy to use. No more fighting with four mounting pins or trying to perfectly align your boards every time you load up.

✔ Fits 2 or 4 MaxTrax and ActionTrax boards
✔ Adjustable clamp design
✔ Flexible board positioning on your rack
✔ Lock-ready security features
✔ Tamper-resistant hardware included
✔ Stainless steel construction

The clamshell-style design allows for quick access when conditions turn bad, while the secure clamping system keeps your boards locked down when the trail gets rough.

The best part? Our mount will grab onto those heavily used boards, even if they’re bent, broken or misshapen.

Check it out and upgrade your recovery setup today.

To the Dads Who Showed Us the Way

The dads who taught us how to turn a wrench.

The dads who packed up the truck before sunrise.

The dads who believed every dirt road was worth exploring.

And the dads who are creating those memories today with the next generation.

Thank you for building more than rigs.

You helped build the passion, the confidence, and the adventures that stay with us for a lifetime.

Happy Father's Day from all of us at LFD Off Road.

Most people spend a lot of time thinking about how to get farther down the trail.

The experienced ones spend just as much time thinking about how to get back.

Recovery gear isn't the most exciting part of an off-road build, but it may be the most important. A capable vehicle can still find itself stuck in mud, sand, snow, or on a difficult obstacle. When that happens, having the right equipment can be the difference between a minor inconvenience and a long day waiting for help.

That's why we consider recovery gear a necessity, not an accessory.
✅ Traction boards for self-recovery
✅ A winch for challenging recoveries
✅ Recovery straps and shackles
✅ Recovery points you can trust

The farther you travel from pavement, the more important recovery gear becomes. Even if you never need it, you'll be glad it's there when conditions change or a trail doesn't go as planned.

Build for the adventure. Prepare for the recovery.

Not every trip with your roof rack has to end at a trailhead.

Sometimes it's lumber for a weekend project. Sometimes it's supplies for a home improvement job. Sometimes it's just taking care of the responsibilities that come before the next adventure.

Our roof racks are built for the gear that gets you off the grid, but they're just as useful when it's time to make a run to the hardware store.

Adventure is great. Getting things done is pretty important too.

What’s the least adventurous thing you've hauled on your LFD roof rack?

Nothing beats seeing our gear out in the wild.

Jeremy F. recently installed his LFD Traction Board Mount and summed it up with two simple words: "Sweet Mount."

We couldn't agree more. The clean install looks right at home on his rig and keeps recovery gear secure and ready when the trail gets tough.

Thanks for sending in the photo, Jeremy. We love seeing how customers put LFD gear to work.

Passing It Down

One day you're the kid asking questions.

Next, you're the one answering them.

The off-road lifestyle has always been about more than vehicles. It's about teaching confidence, problem-solving, self-reliance, and a love for adventure.

Now a new generation is learning those same lessons from the driver's seat, around the campfire, and on the trail.

Some traditions are worth passing down.

From being inspired by Dad, to being Dad, keep sharing the passion!

Some people do book therapy.

Some people air down and hit the trail with friends.

There’s something about getting off the pavement, leaving the notifications behind, and spending a day on the trail with good people that just resets everything.

The conversations are better. The views are better. And for a few hours, the stress of everyday life stays back at the trailhead.

Off-roading with friends might be the therapy we all need these days.
