Tailwinds of Hope
Tailwinds of Hope

A non-profit project that centers on composting awareness in Denver and composting efforts in Kenya.

We started as four high school students (Brian Winstanley, Jean-Marc d'Estree, Andrew Palmquist and Braydin Mehnert), all dedicated to spreading the message of Kenyan compost activist and entrepreneur, John Mwangi, which is, "Nothing is waste until wasted." On a trip to Kenya with BoldLeaders, a youth leadership organization, in the summer of 2011, we were able to meet John and we were inspired by his passion for a cleaner and more agriculturally efficient future for Kenya and the world.

“Overcoming poverty is not a task of charity, it is an act of justice. Like Slavery and Apartheid, poverty is not natural. It is man-made and it can be overcome and eradicated by the actions of human beings. Sometimes it falls on a generation to be great. YOU can be that great generation. Let your greatness blossom.”
