Dogma has no damn place in the craft. Period.

Somewhere along the line, the witchcraft community got comfortable letting selfappointed gatekeepers set up shop.

They sit in comment sections dictating who is real, who is fake, and where the lines are allowed to be drawn.

They want rules.

They want compliance.

They want a hierarchy.

Magic was never meant to be a rigid, one-size-fits-all template. It doesn’t come with a universal manual. It has no standard operating procedures. There is no official governing board certifying who gets to practice and who doesn't.

The entire core of this path is raw individual agency. It is the freedom to interact with the universe, build your own framework, and exist on your own terms.

Your craft belongs to you.

Mine belongs to me.

End of story.

Yet the second you step outside someone else’s comfortable, neat little box, the internet comes out swinging and The recycled scripts start flying.

Youre fake.

Youre too young.

Youre just rage baiting.

Youre clickbaiting.

Youre just trying to sell stuff.

Youre a charlatan.

You dont respect the craft.

It’s predictable. It’s tired. It’s noise.

Let’s tear down these reactionary takes for what they actually are.

First of all, a social media post is a snapshot. It is not an encyclopedia. Highlighting one specific angle of a topic doesn't mean it's the sum total of someone's practice. Assuming you know the depth of someone’s spirit, knowledge, or lived experience off a text post you skimmed in thirty seconds isn't critical thinking. It's just lazy.

Second, labor is labor. Period.

Asking to be compensated for thousands of hours of research, reading, writing, and real-world trial and error isnt a scam. The idea that spiritual work or educational resources must be handed out for free—or else youre a sellout—is an outdated, toxic double standard.

Good vibes dont pay the bills.

Time has value.

Knowledge has value.

Expertise has value.

Stop apologizing for charging for your work.

And let’s address the tone. Speaking directly, dropping the fluffy aesthetic filter, and pushing back on rigid ideas isn't an algorithm trick.

It isn't rage baiting.

It’s just speaking plain truth.

Not everything written with heat is designed to farm outrage; sometimes people are just fed up with the hypocrisy.

When did this community trade genuine curiosity for insecurity?

Someone practicing differently than you isn't a threat to your path. It isn't an attack on your ancestors. It isn't a disrespect to your traditions. It’s just a different human operating in a vast, infinite multiverse.

We used to ask questions.

We used to compare notes.

We used to explore.

Now?

People just shut each other down.

They judge.

They label.

They dismiss.

If someone’s path looks different, speaks differently, or operates differently than yours, it doesn’t make them wrong. It doesn’t make you wrong either.

Both can exist.

Both can be valid.

Both can hold power.

Real collective strength isn’t built on forced consensus. It isn't built on running around policing everyone else's altar. It’s built on asking actual questions, challenging your own assumptions, and remembering why most of us came to this path in the first place: to break free from dogmatic gatekeeping, not to build a new version of it.

Stop letting someone else’s need for control dictate the boundaries of your craft.

Own your work.

Build your path.

Stand in your truth.
