The freshest food you can get is just up the road. 🍅🍅🍅 Common Name Farm and Metro Caring teamed up to bring culturally relevant, nutritious food to our community. 🫑🫑🫑 The USDA’s Local Food Purchasing Agreement, which was introduced after the pandemic, helped food pantries buy food from local farmers and ranchers. Metro Caring drastically increased purchasing from farms like Common Name, investing thousands of dollars into local agriculture while getting thousands of pounds of food to our community. Disappointingly, the federal government is not renewing this program in the coming months, making it harder for local farms like Common Name and more challenging for food pantries to support local ag at the same level. 🍆🍆🍆 This beautiful footage was filmed by our friend @brianjhollarsimagery
