What's on the horizon? Few will hear me sing over the DJ (or through the mask), but I'm playing Krampus tomorrow night at Reelworks' The Christmas Onesie ROLL + Toy Drive & Pics with Santa! – roll through for a snap with my h***y Xmas devil 🙂

HUMAN SUNSHINE

The father of MUA Melinda Wolfe's clown-loving, metalhead friend Emily was recently diagnosed with Alzheimer's. Melinda responded by enlisting me to cheer Emily up with a singing telegram. Wearing clown makeup that Melinda herself applied (inspired by Emily's own tattoo), I sauntered into the Boulder jewelry store where Em works and launched into an ukulele-accompanied rendition of Metallica's “Enter Sandman.” According to Em's post-surprise Instagram post, it truly “brightened my whole month.”

Mission accomplished :)

Girls INpowerment Conference

On Saturday, I emceed and performed for 45 teens and their parents as they were educated about life purpose, self-defense, outsmarting scammers, nutrition, business, resilience and more. Five costume changes were involved, including a superhero-inspired cosplay, a workout guide, a dapper dan, my primary Orange peel alter-ego and a workman on stilts. At one point, Katie Hilborn and I used ChatGPT to create funny lyrics about teen issues using suggestions from the attendees and I sang it a few moments later (encouraging the girls to singalong on the choruses:) I've occasionally performed Custom Singing Telegrams for teens, and I've emceed other kinds of events, including 303 Magazine fashion shows, but emceeing an entire teen conference was definitely a new experience:P While there are certainly aspects that could be improved for the next iteration, the feedback was mostly positive 🙂 Feel free to follow Compass Rose International if you or someone you know is interested in future "INpowerment" events 🙂
