Changing the conversation around LIFE and LOSS from silence + confusion to connection + illumination.
Most families don't start thinking about senior living until they're already in crisis. By then, the choices have narrowed significantly.
bQuest's Kelly Baird and senior living expert Jacqui Clark, CSA, CPRS recorded a webinar to help advisors and families get ahead of that moment before the pressure sets in.
The Right Place, the Right Time: Navigating Senior Living Decisions walks through what you actually need to know, before you need it.
What's covered:
→ The full spectrum of senior living options and how to evaluate fit for your client or family member
→ Why the gap between proactive planning and crisis response is bigger than most families realize
→ The real cost of care: assisted living runs $5,500–$10,000+/month, and 24/7 home care runs considerably higher. Since COVID, costs in some markets have nearly tripled.
→ Why financial advisors are being pulled into care conversations earlier than ever, and how to be ready
As Jacqui puts it: "You lose choices when you don't plan." Memory care waitlists can stretch for months. Families in crisis often can't quit their jobs to provide care at home. The decisions don't disappear. They just get made under worse conditions.
Not sure if it's the right resource for your clients? Watch the trailer first. It works well as a conversation opener too.

bQuest just won Best of Show at the WealthStack Demo Competition. We're still processing it. 🏆
Twelve fintech companies. Five minutes each. The judges' verdict: "bQuest is the only company truly solving a problem."
That means everything to us. Advisors need immediate, practical support for clients navigating aging, caregiving, and end-of-life transitions. That's what we built bQuest to deliver, and moments like this remind us that it matters.
We also placed Runner-Up for Audience Choice. Not bad for a live debut of Care Navigator. 🙌
Thank you to WealthStack, Wealth Management EDGE, the judges, and every advisor who has trusted us to support their clients. We're just getting started.
Decluttering can feel overwhelming, but it doesn't have to be.
Whether you're thinking about your own home or helping an aging parent begin the process, senior move expert Marnie Dawson, founder of Dawson Relocation Services, has spent 18+ years helping families in the Chicago area navigate exactly this.
Her advice? Start small. Start with intention. And don't go it alone.
Here are a few of Marnie's tips for beginning the decluttering journey:
Start with something easy. Pick one drawer, one shelf, or one cabinet — not a whole room. A small win builds momentum and makes the process feel manageable instead of impossible.
- Separate the emotional from the practical. Many of us hold onto things not because we need them, but because of the memories attached. Give yourself permission to honor the memory without keeping the object.
- Sort with a purpose. Ask: Does this go with me, go to a loved one, get donated, or let go? Having a clear system removes the paralysis of decision fatigue.
- Don't wait for a crisis. The families who navigate transitions most smoothly are the ones who started the conversation — and the process — well before an urgent move was needed.
At bQuest, we connect financial advisors and their clients with trusted professionals like Marnie who specialize in making life's hardest transitions a little lighter. Because no one should have to navigate this alone.

National Cancer Survivors Day is an important reminder that survivorship is not a finish line. It’s an ongoing chapter that often comes with its own set of complex challenges.
While treatment may end, many individuals and families are left navigating a new reality that includes medical follow-ups, financial pressure, insurance complexity, and the emotional weight of uncertainty about what comes next.
As Anne McGuire, president and owner of Healthcare Pathfinder LLC, shares:
“Many cancer survivors and their families feel overwhelmed trying to navigate the healthcare system alone. Coordinating care, understanding coverage, managing bills, and advocating for appropriate services can become a full-time responsibility during an already vulnerable and exhausting period of life.”
For financial advisors and professionals supporting clients through serious illness and recovery, these challenges are often happening quietly in the background, yet they can have a profound impact on financial stability, decision-making, and long-term planning.
At bQuest, we believe families shouldn’t have to navigate this alone. That’s why we connect advisors and their clients with trusted healthcare navigation and aging care professionals like Anne, who can help ease the coordination burden and bring clarity during an otherwise overwhelming time.

bQuest is proud to partner with the Society of Certified Senior Advisors (SCSA) and support its mission of elevating the standard of care for older adults and the professionals who serve them.
The Society of Certified Senior Advisors educates and certifies professionals who work with seniors, equipping them with the knowledge and competency needed to better understand and support the aging population. Through its Certified Senior Advisor (CSA®) credential, SCSA promotes a strong foundation of education, ethics, and professionalism in senior-focused work.
At the core of the CSA® designation is a commitment to putting the needs of older adults first, supported by a rigorous certification process that includes ethics education and a professional code of responsibility.
At bQuest, we are intentional about the service providers and professionals within our ecosystem. We are proud to align with and welcome many CSA®-certified professionals into our network, helping ensure that families and financial advisors have access to trusted, well-trained experts in aging care and end-of-life support.
This partnership reflects a shared commitment: raising the standard of care, strengthening trust, and supporting families as they navigate some of life’s most important decisions.

This Memorial Day, many families are gathering to honor, reflect, and remember loved ones who have served and those they continue to carry in their hearts.
Remembrance holidays often bring a mix of emotions. Alongside gratitude and connection, grief can quietly resurface — sometimes in expected ways, and sometimes when we least anticipate it. That’s why emotional support is such an important part of holistic aging and end-of-life planning.
As part of the bQuest ecosystem, grief professionals help individuals and families navigate the emotional realities of loss, remembrance, and major life transitions with compassion and expertise.
💛 A thoughtful reminder from Barb Kamlet of GriefJourney Counseling:
“Joy and sorrow can co-exist at the same time. It’s ok to remember your person and at the same time enjoy being with others.”
For financial advisors, Memorial Day can also be a meaningful time to check in with clients who may be carrying grief, managing family responsibilities after loss, or navigating the emotional side of caregiving and legacy planning.
At bQuest, we believe the strongest support systems care for both the practical and emotional sides of aging, loss, and family decision-making.
Hospice and palliative care. Most people use these terms interchangeably.
They're not the same thing. 🏥
And that confusion can cost families access to support they didn't know was available to them, sometimes for months or even years.
Crista Obermoeller, VP of Operations at Breeze Hospice and Palliative Care of Missouri, breaks it down in one of the clearest explanations we've heard, including what Medicare actually covers and when each type of care applies.
If you work with aging clients or their families, this one is worth two minutes of your time. 🎥
You'll walk away understanding:
✅ The real difference between hospice and palliative care
✅ When each type of care is appropriate
✅ What Medicare covers and what most families don't know to ask

Most retirement plans don't account for the home.
But for your clients in their 60s and beyond, it's often the biggest factor in whether they stay healthy, independent, and out of institutional care.
We sat down with Karen Koch of the Home Modification Occupational Therapy Alliance to talk about what proactive home planning actually looks like, what it costs to wait, and how advisors can bring this conversation into the financial plan with confidence.
This pre-recorded webinar covers:
✅ A framework for starting the housing conversation early
✅ Real cost data that reframes home modifications as risk management
✅ A vetted, nationwide solution you can hand off to clients
🎥 Watch the highlight reel here.
Message us "Home Mod" to receive access to this webinar and to our white paper, specifically targeted to help you as an advisor cover the most relevant topics for your clients (including those who have multiple homes) in a proactive and strategic manner.
