I didn’t think mold was a problem in Colorado…
Until I found a mushroom growing through my carpet 😳
That moment uncovered hidden water damage and mold growth behind our walls—and it completely changed how I understand environmental health.
We were displaced for 6+ months, and during that time we experienced:
😵💫 brain fog
😴 fatigue
😰 anxiety
🤧 sinus issues
💤 poor sleep
🦠 immune disruption
Here’s the thing about mold…
It’s often hidden.
It doesn’t affect everyone the same.
And it can drive symptoms that don’t seem connected.
This is something we’re seeing more and more in practice.
And for some patients—it’s the missing piece.
This month we’re diving into mold, testing, and how to reduce exposure—including access to high-quality air filtration systems that can help filter spores and mycotoxins.

Why is everyone suddenly talking about mold and air quality?
Why does it suddenly feel like everyone is talking about:
mold,
air quality,
wildfire smoke,
and environmental illness?
Because we’re beginning to better understand how profoundly environmental exposures affect whole-body health.
This isn’t just about allergies.
Research now links poor air quality with:
• inflammation
• immune dysregulation
• respiratory symptoms
• brain fog
• fatigue
• cardiovascular health
• neurological effects
And with worsening wildfire seasons and increasingly sealed indoor environments…
this conversation matters more than ever.
Especially here in Colorado.
This month we’re talking about:
• wildfire smoke
• mold exposure
• chronic inflammatory responses
• indoor air quality
• practical home strategies
• testing + environmental medicine approaches

Not all air purifiers are created equal. 🙅♀️
If you’re trying to protect yourself from wildfire smoke…🔥
you need more than a basic filter.
You need:
🌀 true HEPA filtration,
😷 the ability to capture ultra-fine particles,
🏡 and proper coverage for your space.
And if you’re also thinking about mold? 🍄
That standard gets even higher.
That’s why we partnered with a company we trust…
to help patients access high-quality systems that actually work.
Because cleaner air isn’t just about comfort.
It’s about reducing inflammation and protecting long-term health. 🧘♀️

I'll be honest—I used to think of wildfire smoke primarily as a respiratory issue.
Then I started digging into the research.
What I found was surprising. Wildfire smoke doesn't just affect the lungs. The microscopic particles in smoke can contribute to inflammation throughout the body and may even impact brain health.
If you've ever felt more tired, foggy, inflamed, or just "off" during wildfire season, you're not imagining it.
This week's blog breaks down what the science says and what we can do to better support our bodies during smoke season. 🌿🔥
🔥 When most people think about wildfire smoke, they think about coughing or irritated lungs.
But some of the biggest concerns are actually the particles you can’t see.
PM2.5 particles are incredibly small—about 30 times smaller than the width of a human hair.
Because of their size, they can:
🫁 travel deep into the lungs
🩸 enter the bloodstream
🧠 contribute to neuroinflammation and oxidative stress
Research is increasingly showing that long-term exposure to air pollution may impact brain health and cognitive function, which is one reason air quality matters far beyond respiratory health.
The good news? There are ways to help support your body during periods of increased smoke exposure.
Some of the tools I commonly use in practice include:
🐟 Omega-3 fatty acids (EPA + DHA)
🌿 Antioxidants like vitamin C, quercetin, curcumin, and resveratrol
🧪 NAC and glutathione support
🌬️ Reducing exposure through high-quality air filtration
Because protecting your health during wildfire season isn’t just about avoiding smoke...
It’s also about supporting your body’s ability to respond to it. 💚

🌬️ We often think of air as something that surrounds us.
But every breath is also an interaction with our biology.
The air we breathe can influence:
🧠 Brain function
🔥 Inflammation
😴 Sleep
⚡ Energy
🛡️ Immune function
Which is why air quality matters so much—especially during wildfire season.
When smoke levels rise, we're not just talking about respiratory symptoms.
We're talking about how environmental exposures can affect the entire body.
This month we're exploring the connection between air quality, inflammation, mold, environmental toxins, and long-term health.

Feeling more tired or foggy during wildfire season? 🔥
It’s not just in your head.
Wildfire smoke particles are small enough to enter your bloodstream—and even impact the brain.
This can drive:
🧠 brain fog
😴 fatigue
💤 poor sleep
🤯 headaches
🔥 inflammation
Cleaner air = less stress on your body.
This month we’ve partnered with Austin Air to help patients access systems that actually filter wildfire smoke AND ultra-fine particles like mycotoxins. AND - we’ve got a pretty good discount locked in for you.

✨ We spend so much time focusing on what’s happening inside the body...
But what if part of the answer lies outside of it?
Your environment influences:
🌬 The air you breathe
🦠 The microbes you’re exposed to
🔥 The pollutants you encounter
🏠 The spaces where you spend most of your time
These exposures don’t affect everyone the same way.
But for some people, they can be a significant contributor to fatigue, brain fog, inflammation, hormone symptoms, and feeling “off” without a clear explanation.
This month we’re exploring how your environment may be affecting your health more than you realize.
💚 Because understanding the source of the burden is often the first step toward reducing it.
