This photo of me and The Birth of Venus was taken 24 years ago at the Ufizzi Gallery in Florence, Italy. I took a 16 day trip to France and Italy with my sister and brother-in-law. (I was the 3rd wheel) The Birth of Venus by Botticelli is especially magnificent given that it was created sometime in the 1480’s! One of the amazing things about discovering this photo today is that my taste in art has remained the same. I still love the old masters work, especially when painted in a fantasy world setting. Love! ❤️

Here’s the full painting, Childhood, 36 x 24 in, oil on linen is in the “Reflections In Reality” exhibition on view now at the Schoolhouse in Parker (PACE). Opening Reception February 22, 2024, 6 PM. I will be there and hope to see you then. 😊

The perfect pear.

This is the first time I have seen this painting by Edvard Munch. This is not the type of work I would associate with Munch. It, however, proves what a sensitive and masterful artist he was. His intelligent use of color created so much emotion in so few brushstrokes - very inspiring to me.

I am taking ceramics for the first time in my life. Wow, there is soooooo much to learn. Here’s my first bud vase. The glaze didn’t turn out quite like I wanted, but I will know what to do next time. I am a constant work in progress just like my work. 😉
