🧊🗻One thing I've always been blessed with is a very clear vision of exactly what I want to do. While it can make me stubborn at times, it has also led me to not let any set backs or challenges stop me from reaching the goals I want to achieve.
I am going to see all the National Parks, each journey has been an amazing story. I say it all the time, but this National park journey has been the honor of a lifetime to experience with family & friends.
Becoming a nurse was another thing I never questioned. I wanted to be a nurse from the time I was a little kid. I don't remember anything else. I had some setbacks in college both financially and academically, but I never let that get in my way. There was no question in my mind that the end result would be the same.
I am so grateful to have this sort of determination as it had made my life so enjoyable, less confusing, and not so frustrating. When I do achieve those goals, I'm only left thinking, okay what now? It's a blessing and a bit of a curse!
Join me as I venture to National Park #51!

🏜️🦂🌵NATIONAL PARK #50 COMPLETE🙌
Big Bend National Park, Texas with 7 lovely ladies.
Highlights: Santa Elena canyon hike, with a reward dip in the Rio Grande River, Desert air bnb near Terlingua with home cooked meals, and a ride on a b***o into Boquillas Del Carmen, Mexico. We also hiked to a hot springs, met some free range dogs, changed a flat tire, and had a campfire.
The park is very remote and difficult to get to. It is 7 hours from San Antonio, 5 hours from El Paso, and 9 hours from Dallas. I drove over 2000 miles in the last 5 days. The park is also know for dark skies, which we didn't enjoy due to a full moon.
Big Bend is currently under threat of a WALL being built, which would greatly disrupt the ecosystem and the local people. https://nobigbendwall.org

People are CONSTANTLY asking me, what's your favorite national park? Okay, top 3? I get it! I know you want the answer but the answer is just more complicated than that. I have so many favorites but it all depended on time of year, time of day, who I was with, why I was there, and how much time I spend there.
I think the only question you should ask: which park would you go BACK TO over and over again? Places where you can never see it all. So here's my answers-- Zion, Arches, Rocky, Teton, Glacier, Channel Islands, Katmai, Yosemite, Hawaii Volcanoes, Haleakala, Denali, Sequoia.
What about parks that took my breath away upon first entering?? Not as many: Kenai Fjords, Katmai, Zion, Glacier, Sequoia, white sands (at sunrise), crater lake.
Any places I've been that didn't get a fair chance (too short or rushed trip): Grand Canyon, Capitol Reef, Bryce Canyon, Channel Islands, Denali.
Parks that are overrated: NOT A SINGLE ONE
