I am excited that Iβve been asked to narrate a movie on Climate Change for Science Quest and !! Stayed tuned to hear more about the film and when itβs expected to launch!
What is climate change you ask?
Climate change refers to the long-term changes in global temperatures and other characteristics of the atmosphere. Climate has changed throughout Earth's long history, but this time it's different. Human activity is causing worldwide temperatures to rise higher and faster than any time we know of in the past. Temperatures are rising world-wide due to greenhouse gases trapping more heat in the atmosphere. Droughts are becoming longer and more extreme around the world. Tropical storms becoming more severe due to warmer ocean water temperatures.
We must do something, and fast! Be the change the earth needs! β£β£β£β£β£β£

Climate change refers to long-term shifts in temperatures and weather patterns. These shifts may be natural, but since the 1800s, human activities have been the main driver of climate change, primarily due to the burning of fossil fuels (like coal, oil, and gas) which produces heat-trapping gases. Climate change can impact human health by worsening air and water quality, increasing the spread of certain diseases, and altering the frequency or intensity of extreme weather events. Rising sea level threatens coastal communities and ecosystems. The main causes of climate change are: Humanity's increased use of fossil fuels β such as coal, oil and gas to generate electricity, run cars and other forms of transport, and power manufacturing and industry. Deforestation β because living trees absorb and store carbon dioxide. Everyone can help limit climate change. From the way we travel, to the electricity we use and the food we eat, we can make a difference. Start with these ten actions to help tackle the climate crisis. β£β£β£β£β£β£
