I’m a day late, but it’s still a cool memory and tradition I started with my series.

So far copies have been randomly left behind in Florida, Ohio, Italy, Iceland, and France.

I have only seen one person find a copy. It was a girl and she didn’t put it down after she picked it up. So, that’s cool.

I’ll read every tortured lyric, every backstage pass, every “I wrote this song about you” declaration.

In real life?

Absolutely the f*ck not.

For a while there, musicians seemed to be my type.

Or maybe I was theirs.

Yes… yes…

I’ve been both the lesson and the lyric.

Let’s see…

Just to name a few…

There was the surfer with crystal blue eyes, a nose ring, a white Jeep, and a ska band.

The ladies loved him… but he still loved his ex.

Another was a bassist with a motorcycle who swooned me with his stage presence… Then collected my mental health like songs for his next LP.

At one point, after dating a 6’5” punk vocalist who owned the club everyone hung out at, my dating prospects in that town basically evaporated.

So after nearly two decades surrounded by tattoos, piercings, amplifiers, and emotionally unavailable men with guitars, I packed up my life and headed west… With an artist.

Because that’s the natural progression, of course. 😜

Never to date another musician again.

And to be honest, I prefer them where they belong:

At a live show… Or annotated neatly between chapter one and the epilogue.
