I am so honored to serve you on Denver City Council. The official term begins on Monday. I’m looking forward to getting into good trouble with each of you.

what an amazing outpouring of love and solidarity by the entire McAuliffe community for Principal Kurt Dennis. The personal stories from current and former students sharing how their lives were positively impacted by Principal Dennis, the administration and teachers was powerful.
I stand with McAuliffe families in support of our principal.

A fun night at Curtis Park First Friday Jazz! Thank you Curtis Park neighborhood for hosting this event.

Thank you Colorado Black Round Table for hosting a safe streets discussion this evening. I applaud the youth leaders that reminded us that there are more young black men choosing to uplift our/their communities than those that aren’t and that we as a community need to start highlighting them and providing them resources.
I took away from this discussion the importance of bringing hope to these discussions and reducing ‘deficit thinking’ and ‘deficit based language’ which often is how these discussions are centered.
Thank you to the youth leaders and other community leaders for engaging tonight.
