This picture was life changing for me. In 2010 when my oldest son was graduating I knew i needed to transition into something because my kids would all be graduating and moving on to their own lives. I started from scratch and did remedial classes at nctc and worked my way to a masters degree. It took me longer than most, but I love getting to serve it community!! Start today! It's never too late!

Join Us at the Denton Artist Enclave Market at Rubber Gloves!

We're excited to be part of todays Denton Artist Enclave Market, and we have something special planned!

Our very own Max White will be performing live, bringing their incredible talent and energy to an amazing day of art, creativity, and community.

Stop by the TIRG booth and check out our Self-Care Sensory Kit Experience, a hands-on opportunity to create a personalized kit filled with self-care and sensory tools that support grounding, regulation, comfort, and well-being.

But here's the part we're most excited about:

Create One. Give One.

For every sensory kit you create, we'll help provide a refresh kit to a community member who is home free. Together, we're spreading care, dignity, and practical tools for moments when life feels overwhelming.

Come for the art, the music, the community, a chair massage or the opportunity to make a difference, we'd love to see you there.

See you at the market!

Happy National Donut Day from TIRG!

Today, we're celebrating donuts, but it's more than just donuts!

The importance of allowing yourself moments of joy.
Sometimes life looks like enjoying a donut without turning it into a debate about whether you've "earned" it.

Many of us have learned to be hard on ourselves. To push through. To prioritize productivity over presence.

But healing often begins when we give ourselves permission to meet our needs with kindness instead of criticism.

So today, if a donut brings you a moment of happiness, enjoy it!
Happy Donut Day from TIRG!!!

What "Trauma-Informe" Actually Means
Trauma-informed care isn't a trend, a buzzword, or a technique.
It's a commitment to seeing people through the lens of their experiences rather than behaviors.
It means understanding that every person has a story, and that healing happens best in environments where people feel safe, respected, and empowered.

Trauma-informed care means:
Safety before strategy
Consent before intervention
Collaboration before correction
Regulation before reflection

It's about creating environments where people don't have to brace themselves. It means moving at the pace of trust.

It means honoring choice and autonomy.

It means recognizing that what may look like resistance, avoidance, anger, or withdrawal is often a nervous system doing its best to protect itself.

At TIRG, we believe healing begins when people feel seen, heard, and supported not fixed.
Because healing doesn't happen when people are pushed.

Healing happens when people are supported.

National Bicycle Day Reminder from TIRG

Healing and riding a bicycle have more in common than you might think.

Some days, the road feels smooth and effortless.
Some days, you're pushing uphill and wondering how much farther you have to go.
And sometimes, you need to stop, catch your breath, and regain your balance before moving forward.

The truth is, progress isn't measured by speed, t's measured by your willingness to keep going.

At Trauma-Informed Restoration Group, we know that healing isn't a straight path. There are curves, detours, and unexpected challenges. But every small step, every moment of courage, and every effort to keep moving matters.

Today, on National Bicycle Day, we invite you to celebrate the progress you've made, even if it doesn't feel fast or perfect.

Keep pedaling.
Keep resting when you need to.
Keep trusting that growth happens one turn of the wheel at a time.

We see you.
We're cheering you on.
And we're here to support you wherever the journey leads.
