Baby constipated?
There’s a reason your baby can’t p**p… and it’s not a lack of prune juice or Miralax.
Pooping is actually a brain-body process.
The brain has to communicate with the digestive tract. The diaphragm, abdominal muscles, and pelvic floor have to coordinate. The nervous system has to know when it’s time to go and how to make it happen.
And sometimes, body tension can get in the way.
Birth is hard work. Whether baby arrived after a long labor, a fast labor, a C-section, or with assistance, tension can build up in the body. We often see tension through the neck, jaw, diaphragm, and abdomen—all areas that play a role in feeding, digestion, and elimination.
When the brain and body aren’t communicating efficiently, things can slow down.
💩 Straining
💩 Infrequent bowel movements
💩 Hard stools
💩 Fussiness and discomfort
As a pediatric chiropractor, I look at the connection between the brain and body and whether tension in the nervous system may be interfering with normal digestive function.
Because sometimes constipation isn’t a p**p problem.
The issue may not be what’s going in. It may be how the brain and body are working together.

She spent the longest time dropping a rock through the fence, picking it up, and doing it all over again.
Simple? Yes.
But her brain was busy.
The brain develops like a flower. 🌼
One layer at a time.
One skill building on the one before it.
At this age, every reach, grasp, squat, weight shift, and sensory experience helps strengthen the foundation for future milestones.
She’s building:
🧠 Balance
🧠 Coordination
🧠 Body awareness
🧠 Motor planning
🧠 Cause and effect
That’s why repetition matters.
What looks like “doing the same thing over and over” is often exactly what a developing brain needs.
As parents, it’s easy to feel like we need more toys, more activities, or more entertainment. 🙋♀️
But often the best opportunities for development are already built into the natural world around us.
A stick.
A rock.
A puddle.
A mound of dirt.
Nature is the best playground. 🌼

Pregnancy sleep can get a lot harder as baby grows.
One day you’re sleeping fine. The next, your ribs ache, your hips hurt, and you’re switching sides every 20 minutes trying to find a comfortable position.
While discomfort during pregnancy is common, it doesn’t always mean it’s something you have to just push through.
As baby grows, your posture changes, your center of gravity shifts, and your pelvis has to adapt to make room for both you and baby. When the body isn’t moving and adapting well, tension and discomfort often follow.
Chiropractic care during pregnancy focuses on helping the pelvis, spine, and nervous system function the way they’re designed to—so you can move better, feel better, and hopefully get a little more sleep.
Common reasons pregnant moms seek care:
• Rib pain
• Hip pain
• Pelvic pain or pressure
• Sciatica
• Round ligament pain
• SPD/PSD “lightening crotch” ⚡️
• Difficulty getting comfortable in bed
• Preparing the body for birth

If your birth year starts with “19,” it might be time for consistent chiropractic care. 😉
Especially if you’re responsible for everyone’s schedule, everyone’s snacks, everyone’s water bottles, and somehow everyone else’s emotions too.
Moms carry a lot.
That’s why I care so much about helping moms keep their nervous systems functioning at their best.
From one mom to another… we’re all just trying to survive the group text, the practice schedule, and the snack duty. 😂
If you’ve been putting yourself at the bottom of the list, consider this your reminder to take care of yourself too.

“He skipped crawling, but walked early.”
We’ve been taught to look at milestones by age.
But development isn’t just about when. It’s also about how the nervous system builds.
Each stage lays the foundation for the next. When a step gets skipped, rushed, or compensated for, the body often finds another way to get the job done.
Those workarounds can show up later as:
• Coordination challenges
• Focus and attention struggles
• Posture patterns
• Movement differences
• Difficulty with balance or body awareness
It’s not random.
It’s how the nervous system adapted.
Slower doesn’t mean behind.
Sometimes it means more complete integration.
In our office, we look beyond whether a milestone was reached and ask how your child moved through those early developmental patterns.
Because the foundation matters.
If you’ve ever wondered whether your child’s movement patterns, coordination, focus, or development could be connected to those early milestones, it may be time to take a closer look.

Brothers.
Turning “Who gets adjusted first?” into a competitive sport since forever. 😂
Did you know that women under chiropractic care during pregnancy have been shown to experience shorter labor times?
Research by Dr. Cara Borggren found that first-time moms receiving chiropractic care throughout pregnancy had, on average, a 25% shorter labor. Moms who had given birth before experienced labor times that were, on average, 31% shorter.
While every pregnancy and birth is different, one of our goals is to help your body function at its best throughout pregnancy by supporting nervous system function, movement, and pelvic balance.
Pregnancy is hard work. You don’t have to do it alone.
If you’re pregnant—or know someone who is—we’d love to help support a healthier, more comfortable pregnancy.

School’s out.
The calendar finally has a little breathing room.
No rushing from school to activities. No homework battles. No trying to squeeze one more appointment into an already packed week.
And there’s another reason summer is such a great time to start chiropractic care: kids’ brains and bodies are still developing at an incredible pace.
The nervous system is responsible for coordinating growth, movement, focus, sleep, emotional regulation, and how kids adapt to the world around them. When we support healthy nervous system function and Brian growth, we’re helping create a stronger foundation for all of that development.
Summer gives us the space to be proactive instead of reactive.
Without the daily stress of school schedules and academic demands, kids often have more capacity to adapt to positive changes and establish healthy patterns that can carry into the school year.
Think of summer as a reset.
If you’ve been meaning to schedule that first visit, now is a great time.
DM us “SUMMER” and we’ll answer any questions you have.

** Updated Hours **
Starting June 1, we’re making a small change to our office hours and will no longer be open on Monday evenings.
As our family has grown (and our kids have gotten older!), we’re experimenting with a schedule that gives us a little more family time while still making sure we’re available when you need us.
Wednesday evenings will remain open, and we have some flexibility built into our schedule. If you need help getting in or are running behind, just send us a text and we’ll do our best to accommodate.
Thank you for being part of our practice family and supporting these changes as we continue building a practice that can serve our community for years to come. ❤️
