Congratulations to UNT CSE Ph.D. candidate, Md Abdullah Al Forhad! He presented his research at the ICML 2026 Main Conference in Seoul, South Korea. ICML is one of the world's most prestigious machine learning conferences, ranked A* by CORE.

As first author, Forhad led the development of a new AI framework. It helps AI systems learn new tasks without forgetting previously acquired knowledge. This is a major challenge in building smarter, more adaptable AI.

This achievement reflects his strong research record at UNT. To date, Forhad has published four papers during his Ph.D. His research focuses on active learning, continual learning, and multimodal learning, under the mentorship of Dr. Weishi Shi.

Engineering doesn't end with designing technology. It also means understanding how innovation reaches the people who need it.

UNT Computer Science and Engineering student Jeffrey Bowman is interning with Texas Instruments as a Product Marketing and Applications Engineer Intern. In his role, he conducts market analysis, supports growth initiatives through company outreach, and develops demonstrations of next-generation products for customer meetings and presentations.

Experiences like this give our students the opportunity to combine technical knowledge with communication, business strategy, and customer engagement, preparing them for careers that bridge engineering and industry.

We're proud to see Jeffrey putting his skills to work this summer.

Dr. Pedram will introduce students to the design, optimization, and deployment of machine learning models on resource-constrained embedded systems. Available for BOTH undergrads and graduate students this Fall on my.UNT.edu.
