Meet Charlie, our Texoma Observer Dog of the Month in partnership with Dog Ranch ! ❤️

Charlie is a 7-month-old Border Collie mix who was recently rescued from an emergency situation and is now ready for the fresh start she deserves. Even after a scary week, this sweet girl is already showing everyone how loving, people-friendly, and ready-for-a-family she really is.

Charlie is looking for a foster home — or even better, a foster-to-adopt home. 🏡
One important note: she needs a home without cats. 🐱❌

Here's your chance to help add a splash of color and creativity to Durant. The City of Durant is inviting the community to participate in our Fire Hydrant Decorating Contest, transforming everyday fire hydrants into unique works of art that reflect the pride, personality, and spirit of our city.

Whether your design celebrates Durant, highlights local history, showcases Oklahoma pride, or simply spreads a little joy, we want to see your vision!

🎨 How to Participate

🗓️ Design submission deadline: June 26
✅ All designs must be submitted and approved before any painting begins
🖌️ Participants must provide their own paint and brushes
🎨 All painting must be completed using Rust-Oleum paint

This is a fun opportunity to leave a lasting impact on our community and help create something that residents and visitors can enjoy for years to come.
