Point House Vacation Cottage

As we mentioned earlier in the year, here we go again with highway work impacting traffic flows in our area. Starting next Monday, April 6th, US Highway 51 will be completely closed between US Hwy 8 and County Road L for bridge repairs on the Bearskin Creek Bridge. The "official" detour is US Highway 8 east to Highway 47. We know locals and most others will figure out some unofficial routes. Let's all be careful with the increase in traffic on our local roads, including the 45MPH speed limit on most of County Road L. Also be aware that the County Road L segment between Rocky Road and Lakewood Road is always part of the Bearskin State Bike Trail, so watch out for people on bicycles as well, particularly in that area.

The official detour (going north) is Hwy 8 east to Hwy 47 where you can take Cr-K west to Hwy 51 or stay on 47 to Woodruff. But some may take 8 west to Cr-L to 51 or 8 east to either of the two N’s to make your way to K then west to 51. So be careful out there with the additional traffic.
