This year's state Educators Rising conference rocks! We have attended inspiring workshops on how to put inspiration back in the classroom, conversed in depth with a panel of Teachers of The Year, competed in competitions, ate well, danced the night away at a masquerade ball, networked with other student and teacher leaders. As David Morales put it, "It's dope!"

Why we should bring back vocational training 08/27/2016

Now that our Ed Riding chapter is a CTSO, I have been learning more the importance of vocational education. Here is a link from Dr. Trujillo at https://www.facebook.com/karen.trujillo.5/posts/10210879382247721

DHS Ed Rising students were awesome on Friday when they presented at the board meeting to update them on our current status and thank those who have sponsored all of our recent adventures. Even though I was unable to show our presentation (due to technical difficulties), the students' testimonials proved a better focus. They gave heartfelt short speeches about why they wanted to become teachers, and how their experiences with Ed Riding has inspired them to fulfill their dreams. I became tearful as I realized how much the next generation has to offer. We have to keep supporting these young people. They are going to be amazing educators!
