If you are wondering "why Bluesky?" please take the time to read about it below...but the short answer is that the creators are actively making efforts to "Elon proof" the platform, so that it cannot be highjacked by another neo-nazi billionaire supporter of fascist dictators, in addition to providing personal control of what one sees in their feed and taking data privacy seriously.

I am also going to make a significant effort in the near future to move personal communication to the Signal app, and get my personal email out of the hands of Google (after being on gmail for the last 20 years!). I urge others to do the same.

These companies have been abusing our data privacy for years, but now their support for fascism is not something I can put up with or overlook anymore.
