SPIRITUAL COVERING
I know the Bible speaks of spiritual covering in Hebrews 13:17, but I wasn’t sure how that translated into today’s modern-day church. I’ve always known that pastors cover their sheep, husbands cover their wives, and parents cover their children spiritually but today I really understood it.

I was in the ocean with Brielle. The beach here is very uneven, so you can be standing on high sand one minute and suddenly step into a deep hole the next. We went in deeper and came up to a sandbar, and the waves were pretty strong not super high, but strong.
I am taller than Brielle, so she was holding on to me. When the waves came, she would hold my hands and jump with them. A few times she forgot, and she got slammed with sand and seawater in her mouth and eyes.
As the waves started getting higher than her height, I would grab her and hold her up so she wouldn’t get hit. Then I saw a big one coming. Instinctively, I grabbed her, turned my back to the wave, and placed her right in front of me. She felt the wave, but she didn’t get hit I did.
My entire body protected her from the wave. She was able to simply hold on to me and feel the current.

This is covering.
Many times you’re being taken in deeper water to help you go deeper.
Many times you are being held up because you’re not tall enough spiritually to see above the waves.
And a lot of times your covering is getting hit and fighting battles that you only barely feel—because they are covering you as Christ covers them.
Here’s the thing: Brielle could have chosen not to let me protect her. She could have chosen to let go and be dragged by the current. But she chose to trust the person who has loved her and covered her the entire time.
In that moment, I began to have flashbacks of the many times I stepped out from under my covering because I thought I knew it all. The many times I thought I could do everything on my own. I began to deeply repent.
It’s true—you really don’t know until you’re there.
The number of times in my adulthood that I have said, “They were right,” has been humbling. I hate to admit it, but it’s true.
We can’t be covered if we don’t want to be.
We can’t be covered if we don’t trust.
And we can’t be covered if we don’t surrender.

My father-in-law has been in a nursing home with dementia for quite some time. Those close to us know what’s been going on, but we haven’t shared everything publicly. He was recently diagnosed with cancer as well, and today we received the dreaded phone call that he is actively passing away.
We were trying to prepare for this, but financially we are not in a good place. We work day and night to sustain our family, and we can share more details later, but right now we simply need help. We are on our way there now, praying my husband is able to say goodbye to his father in person.

Our prayer life become stale when we don’t believe what we say we don’t say what we believe. Prayer is declarations alignment with the Holy Spirit, not to manipulate God into what we want, but us aligning with what he already desires for us and coming into agreement with it. 

You are not too old to do what God has called you to do.

We have subconsciously created a culture where, as people age, they are seen as no longer relevant no longer able to walk in their calling or serve with purpose. When we think of getting older, we often think of retirement. And when we think of retirement, we think of rest—I’ve done my work, now I can sit down.
But what if your older years are actually your best years?
There is a level of authority that comes through the process of purification. There is wisdom attached to the years you have lived—the things you’ve seen, the people you’ve walked with, and the trials you’ve endured. We must become a multigenerational Church again!!!
We need the wisdom of the elders: correction, direction, and stability.

You are not forgotten.
Your calling has not been voided, rejected, or erased because of your age.
I have made up my mind that as long as I have breath in my lungs, I will do what the Lord has instructed me to do. Whether people make room or not—the One who calls me prepares the way. The One who calls me opens doors, brings people, and makes room.
The crowd does not define the call.
Whether in the marketplace or at the table…
Whether in churches or houses…
Whether in soup kitchens, on the streets, or behind the scenes supporting and sending others your ministry matters.
You are still called.
You are still needed.
Your age does not limit what God can do in you or through you.
Do not give up.
Do not sit down yet.
Your prophetic voice does not die with age.
We have believed this lie long enough.
It must be silenced.

Witches in the Church

What do we typically believe about witches? We often think of black magic, idol altars, spell-casting, and curses. And while the answer may be yes to all of those, let’s take a deeper look at what it can look like when witchcraft operates inside the church.

Many who operate with prophetic gifting can be drawn to power if they are not careful to die to self daily. They are people who can hear from the spirit realm—either from God or from Satan—because their ears are attentive to voices that reveal things. When discernment and submission are absent, gifting can become dangerous.

There are individuals in the church whose presence is marked by constant complaining. They shift atmospheres with their words. They watch others closely—what they do and don’t do. They operate in jealousy and cause strife, whether publicly or quietly, destroying from the background through gossip.
They curse people by speaking aloud what Satan is whispering—words of death. They speak curses over their churches by complaining about everything. They release word curses over their “friends” by gossiping behind their backs while pretending to be loyal to their faces. They reveal themselves when offense arises—suddenly and publicly speaking against those they once claimed to love.

If we can partner with heaven, we can most certainly partner with hell. If we can prophesy life, we can misuse the same gift to prophesy death. Those operating under the same spirits tend to find one another and form “clubs” rooted in shared experiences—bitterness, jealousy, anger, or hate.
This morning, the Lord showed me a few people who have cursed me—whether intentionally or unintentionally. He then led me to break off every word curse that had harmed me or that I had unknowingly come into agreement with. I have found that many times when you feel rejected and don’t know why, it’s because someone has spoken something out loud against you. Words carry weight.

The Bible tells us that we will be held accountable for every careless or idle word spoken (Matthew 12:36). There is power in the declarations of our mouths.

The Lord also led me to repent for the many times I have used my own gifting against a brother or sister—because I have. At the time, I didn’t recognize this reality. The courts of heaven hold cases brought by the accuser, and we must ask ourselves: what if this is one of them?

This year, I have made it a personal goal to speak less, listen more, and pray even more. Breakthrough is found on the other side of obedience—not comfort, and not delusion.
I pray you ask the Lord to search your heart and reveal if this has been you. Because if it has, it is witchcraft. Witchcraft is rebellion, and rebellion is partnering with Satan.

Jealousy is the DNA of Satan.

It was jealousy that grew in his heart when he was an angel of light standing before the throne of God. He wanted to become who he was never created to be. Jealousy gave birth to rebellion in his heart.
He first began to wrestle with identity—questioning whether he could be more than he was created to be, or something other than what God had designed him to be. He wanted to take control of his own creation and destiny, desiring to become like God—his own god. He no longer wanted to submit to the One seated on the throne he himself wanted to occupy that seat.
Jealousy is the root of rebellion. When you inject yourself with it—or allow it to be injected into you—you allow Satan’s DNA to run through you. This is why he uses the airwaves to spread the disease of lust, jealousy, and greed. He seeks to impregnate the mind so that his seed will run through your veins.
Address the root, and you will heal.
