📚 Spirit Elementary Readers, are YOU ready to take the SSYRA Reading Challenge?

We are excited to highlight this year’s SSYRA and SSYRA Jr. award-winning titles that will be available in our school library during the upcoming school year! Students who accept the challenge and read all 15 titles will earn special rewards and recognition for their amazing accomplishment. 🎉

We encourage all of our families to help support reading at home by reading together, discussing books, and making time for daily reading practice. These exciting titles are also available through your local public library, with many offered digitally through the Hoopla and Libby apps through Volusia County Library. Be sure to ask your local library for more information!

📖 Please note: As the school year begins, our 3rd grade students will have a special reading list that combines selected SSYRA Jr. titles along with titles from the 3-5 SSYRA list.

Today, we had the opportunity to welcome our new principal, Mrs. Ryser, to the Spirit Elementary family! 💚💛

Mrs. Ryser spoke with our faculty and staff about continuing the strong Trailblazing vision that makes Spirit such a special place for our students, families, and community. We are excited for the future and look forward to the leadership, passion, and positivity she will bring to our school! ✨ 🌞

At the same time, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to Mrs. Figueroa for her dedication and leadership at Spirit Elementary. We wish her the very best on her new journey as she continues making a difference just around the corner at Discovery. Once a Trailblazer, always a Trailblazer! ❤️
