Say hello to little Wasabi (aka Jericho) 💚

At first glance, he looks like any other adorable kitten. But Wasabi is fighting battles most kittens never have to face.

He has been diagnosed with congenital megaesophagus, a condition that makes it difficult for food to reach his stomach normally. To stay safe, every meal must be fed upright in his special cup, and he must remain upright afterward to help gravity do the work his tiny body cannot.

As if that wasn’t enough, he is also recovering from aspiration pneumonia caused by food entering his lungs.

Despite everything, this little fighter refuses to give up. He still climbs legs, demands attention, purrs for cuddles, and greets each day with the determination only a kitten can have.

His journey will require ongoing veterinary care, medications, diagnostics, specialized feeding supplies, and close monitoring as we learn how best to manage his condition.

Some weeks feel heavier than others.

This past week was a balancing act between managing my chronic illness, caring for my family, working, and continuing to run Saving Livy Cat Rescue. On top of that, an unexpected family emergency pulled me away and required my attention elsewhere.

Even when things get hectic, the rescue never truly stops! ❤️‍🩹

Whether I’m answering messages late at night, coordinating veterinary care, arranging fosters, processing applications, helping community cats, or planning the next steps for animals in need, I’m always working behind the scenes. Rescue isn’t something I clock in and out of—it’s part of my everyday life.

There have been moments this week when I’ve been exhausted and overwhelmed, but I’m constantly reminded that I’m not doing this alone.

My family continues to hold me up when I need it most. The incredible Kitty Village community shows up time and time again with donations, supplies, encouragement, shares, and support. Because of all of you, cats continue receiving food, medical care, safe foster homes, and second chances.

Every package delivered, every dollar donated, every kind message, and every share makes a difference. When my own strength is running low, your support helps carry this mission forward.
