At El Jardín in Little Havana, the landscape was envisioned as an extension of the architecture — a layered garden environment that reinforces the project’s sense of continuity, memory, and place. Working alongside Cure & Penabad, the design carefully mediates between street and dwelling through intimate courtyards, tropical planting, shaded pathways, and immersive garden moments that soften and enrich the experience of the historic structures.

Inspired by Miami’s architectural and cultural legacy, the landscape creates a calm civic foreground within the energy of Calle Ocho — demonstrating how thoughtful outdoor spaces can support adaptive reuse, strengthen neighborhood character, and shape a more connected urban experience.

A tranquil backyard designed as a private retreat from the everyday. Layered planting, rich textures, and filtered shade create a calm, immersive environment that feels natural and inviting. Through a thoughtful design process — studying space, light, and how the landscape will be experienced over time — the garden unfolds into a peaceful setting where coming home feels restorative and effortless.

A peaceful stroll around a reimagined backyard!

A true Miami tropical modern exploration in creating special moments of texture and depth. Entry overflow water features with accent planting bring sound and tranquility to the approach. American Oil Palms, Sabals, Thatch, Paurotis and Licualas are just some of the palms featured in the garden. A harmonious mix of native and Florida friendly exotics plants interplay to offer diverse moments of discovery as they mature. We couldn’t be happier with this garden experience!
