Here’s the reality: dogs can make incredible progress in a training facility. A skilled trainer can create major behavioral changes in a short amount of time. But the real question is — can those results be consistently replicated once the dog returns home?
Often, the answer is not entirely.
One or two “go-home” lessons usually aren’t enough to address all the little nuances that come up in your dog’s everyday environment — the places where they’re most comfortable, distracted, and practiced in old habits. When dogs return home, many of the same struggles return with them because the training hasn’t fully generalized where it matters most… with you.
That’s why we’ve created a program that combines the best of both worlds.
For the first phase, we work intensively and hands-on with your dog to build a strong, reliable foundation quickly and efficiently. Then, we transition into focused work with you as the owner, helping your dog transfer those new skills into real life, real routines, and real situations.
The result? Faster progress, better follow-through, and lasting change you get to see happen in real time.
Limited June spots are now open.

Bruce and Duke playing “predator” and “prey”. Rehearsing hunting behavior can be a totally fun, healthy form of play for a lot of dogs, but it should not be one sided. “Taking turns” and respecting “time outs” when things get overwhelming are an important part of safe play. These guys get it 🐇 🐺

Is your dog confused and stuck in a pattern of doing the unwanted behavior, stopping, and getting rewarded for stopping? Happens all the time.
Preparing for the hate on retractable leashes. Few understand how they can be used beautifully with the right mindset.
Duke is 3 months old now, learning how to make great choices on his own, but also how to respond well when he is given a direct cue. Walks should be fun for your dog, which means giving them the freedom to enjoy the things they love without having to stand next to you at a heel at all times. The way to that freedom is through great communication, early management, and consistency.
Retractable leashes are an awesome training tool when used properly and responsibly.

Could not be more proud of this little dude. 4 months ago, he was counter surfing and stealing dinners off the table. Today? A working boy!
Bruce has just started therapy dog training, and he was absolutely made for the job. He brought so much joy to the clients at Compass’s Enterage Program tonight, and I am filled with so much gratitude for getting to use dog training as the vehicle to put smiles on people’s faces. Amazing job, Brucie.
