🎗️Delphos has a great tradition of bringing home our athletic champions, but this one is special.
The Delphos Fire Department, Delphos Police Department, the Van Wert County Sheriff's Office, and the Delphos St. John’s Baseball Team had the honor of escorting home a true local champion, 10-year-old Connor Hyitt, who has officially BEAT CANCER!
As Connor made his way home, Delphos residents lined the streets and shut down the block to welcome him back with the celebration he deserves. The overwhelming show of support from our community was a powerful reminder of what makes Delphos such a special place to call home.
Throughout his battle, Connor displayed incredible courage, strength, and determination. While many champions earn trophies and medals, Connor earned something even greater, the admiration and respect of an entire community.
Today wasn’t about sports scores or championships. It was about celebrating hope, perseverance, family, and a young man who refused to give up.
Congratulations, Connor! We are proud of you, inspired by you, and honored to welcome you home.
Welcome home, Connor. Delphos is cheering for you today and always.
