With possible snow coming this week we offer these tips for protecting your body from snow related injuries:
BE HEART SMART - don't eat or smoke before removing snow
DRESS IN LAYERS - overheating puts extra stress on the heart
PACE YOURSELF - take frequent breaks and hydrate
SHOVEL SAFELY - bend your legs slightly at the knee, letting your thigh muscles do most of the pushing and lifting
DO NOT TWIST YOUR BODY WHEN SHOVELING - dump the snow in front of you, think about good posture and maintaining the natural curve of your back.
And of course, if you do hurt your back call us right away!
