Had a great time at the Ohio Township Association (OTA) conference last week. Grateful for the opportunity to learn, share ideas, and connect with incredible public servants and vendors from across Delaware County!

Happy Ohio Township Day!

For a form of government once considered temporary, townships remain among the oldest and most efficient, for example, serving more miles of road than any other government in the State of Ohio.

Grateful to work with many local public servants who keep communities safe and running every day.

PRESS RELEASE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Genoa Township Trustee Renee Vaughan Announces Candidacy for Delaware County Commissioner
Delaware County, Ohio - Genoa Township Trustee Renee Vaughan announced today her candidacy for Delaware County Commissioner, bringing proven local leadership, a strong record of fiscal responsibility, responsible development, and a focus on public safety and community quality of life.
Vaughan currently serves as Vice-Chair of the Genoa Township Board of Trustees, having first been elected in 2019. During her tenure, she has prioritized responsible budgeting, development aligned with community needs, enhanced public safety measures, and initiatives that preserve what makes Delaware County an outstanding place to live, work, and raise a family. Her hands-on township leadership provides valuable insight into how county-level decisions directly affect local communities, families, and taxpayers.
In addition to her service in Genoa Township, Vaughan brings regional and statewide leadership experience. She currently serves as President of the Delaware County Township Association and has served on the Ohio Township Association Board of Directors since 2024, advocating for effective and efficient township governance across the state.
“Delaware County is experiencing rapid growth, and it demands experienced, commonsense conservative leadership to protect residents while planning responsibly for the future,” Vaughan said. “As a township trustee and through my work with the Delaware County Township Association, I have collaborated closely with residents, local officials, and first responders to deliver resident-focused results. I am running for County Commissioner to extend that practical, conservative approach countywide by prioritizing fiscal stewardship, public safety, and transparent governance.”
If elected, Vaughan’s top priorities will include:
• Stewardship of taxpayer dollars through responsible budgeting
• Strategic infrastructure and transportation planning that supports growth without overburdening residents
• Strong support for public safety and emergency services
• Building collaborative partnerships with townships, cities, and villages throughout Delaware County
• Support and advocate for local government
Vaughan emphasized that collaboration and transparency will continue to guide her approach to public service.
“The best government listens and puts people first,” Vaughan said. “I look forward to earning the trust of Delaware County voters and partnering with community leaders to keep our county thriving for generations to come.”
“Our Delaware, Our Future”

Additional campaign details, including opportunities to get involved, will be announced in the coming weeks.

Tonight, I had the distinct honor of being sworn into office by Delaware County Prosecutor Melissa Schiffel. It was a full-circle moment that reminded me how quickly time flies and how grateful I am for the Berlin Township community.

I remain more committed than ever to representing the interests of our great township, and I am excited to continue the work we started together. 🔴🔵

Freedom isn’t free. Thank you to all who have served and sacrificed for our nation. I was grateful for the special opportunity to thank so many in person at the Delaware Veterans Parade last week as well!

🔴🔵 We did it! 🔴🔵
Thank you to everyone who showed up to vote and shared their support!

Congratulations, also, to Don Sutton, and I look forward to working together with the future Board for the benefit of our community.

I also appreciate all of the candidates who ran. It takes courage, care, and a lot of time to step up and serve.

There is still much work to be done, so here's to four more productive years!
