What a weekend! It was fantastic to connect with so many people at our hometown Delaware, Ohio annual car show. The weather was perfect and there were tons of cars and trucks.

For everyone who asked—yes, we have MANY photos of the event and they are posted right here!

This has to be one of the largest car shows in the state. Plan to attend next October!

We had the pleasure of spending a few days at Put-In-Bay, Ohio to watch the annual vintage sports car races. Not any fire breathing Mustangs, but lots of old cool cars!

For those of you that do not know where it is, here is a short description.

Put-in-Bay is a small, historic village on South Bass Island in Lake Erie, Ohio. It's a popular summer tourist destination often called the "Key West of the North" for its lively atmosphere. Weekdays are great for family fun, but weekend nights in the summer families may want to avoid. It gets very rowdy.

History & Name Origin 📜
The name "Put-in-Bay" is thought to have come from sailors who would "put in" the bay for shelter from sudden storms on Lake Erie. The island played a significant role in the War of 1812 when Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry used the harbor as a base. From here, he sailed to defeat the British fleet in the Battle of Lake Erie on September 10, 1813. The victory is commemorated by the Perry's Victory and International Peace Memorial, a 352-foot granite column visible for miles. The island's rich soil and climate also led to a thriving wine industry in the mid-19th century, with vineyards and wineries still operating today.

What to Do & See 🗺️
Put-in-Bay offers a mix of historical sites, natural attractions, and entertainment. Many visitors get around the small island by renting golf carts.

Historical and Natural Sites: Key attractions include the Perry's Victory and International Peace Memorial, Perry's Cave (an underground cave), and Heineman's Winery, which is home to the world's largest geode, the Crystal Cave.

Recreation: Visitors can enjoy activities like kayaking, parasailing, and exploring the island's state park. There are also family-friendly spots like the Butterfly House and Kimberly's Carousel.

Nightlife: Downtown Put-in-Bay has a vibrant scene with numerous bars, restaurants, and live music venues.

Been a really busy spring and early summer as expected. But we are asking anyone to chime in here. We are considering stopping PayPal as a payment option and just using Shopify. Shopify is where our website is located. Shopify payments are just as flexible and safe (maybe safer) than PayPal.

PayPal is just driving us nuts with constant emails about doing PCI scans for credit card security in our account and website. these scans take a lot of our valuable time. They are meant to keep customer credit card data safe. That is fine for a huge operation that actually sees credit card data. We have no brick and mortar store and we no longer take credit card info over the phone. And we have never stored that info when we did do it. We NEVER see anyone's credit card info at all. That is all done via third parties. We explained all this to PayPal and they said, too bad, you still have to do this.

Lately, their new PCI process includes having a 'certificate' from a security firm that does regular audits of our credit card data, which of course we do not have. This is very expensive. We'd have to raise prices. to pay for a company to DO NOTHING!

Plus the fees we pay to PayPal are higher than Shopify.

So, what do you all think, should we dump them?

Holy smokes! What a weekend at the PRI Show in Indianapolis a few weeks ago! 🏎️🔥 From the latest engine tech to mind-blowing custom builds, it was a motorhead's dream come true.

We have ben to the SEMA show in Las Vegas, and the PRI show in Indy many times. Even though SEMA dwarfs PRI, I HATE Las Vegas.

Don't get me wrong, Vegas has its own kind of charm (and those buffets which have gotten ridiculously expensive!), but Indy just felt like a better fit for the racing world.
Here's my take:

Midwest Vibes: Indy has this genuine, down-to-earth feel. People were friendly, the city was easy to navigate, and the overall atmosphere was more relaxed. Vegas always feels like everyone is hustling you.
Racing Heritage: You can feel the history of motorsports here. Being so close to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and all that racing legacy adds something special.
More Focused: In Vegas, it's easy to get distracted by all the shows, the crazy stuff on the streets and casinos. In Indy, the focus stayed on the PRI Show and connecting with other motorsports enthusiasts.

Anyone else feel the same way? Maybe it's just me, but Indy won me over for sure this year.

Also in Vegas, the homeless crisis is overwhelming. I have always been a advocate for the homeless, but getting terrorized and almost mugged coming out of a McDonald's was a bit too much, and it was the same guy who we bought breakfast for 15 minutes earlier

Delaware Car show 10/23/2024

Here is a short video of the Delaware, Ohio October 2024 car show. It is maybe 1/3 of the entire show, we had to leave because it started raining (it was not forecast).

Once again Delaware, Ohio had a terrific car show this past Saturday. Hundreds of cars. We had to rush around to take photos (apologize as some are blurry) to beat the rain that had not been forecast. The photos are missing maybe 2-3 blocks we did not see because it really started raining. This car show is worth a drive - it happens every October.

One of my favorites was the old (Ford?) dually hot rod powered by a turbocharged Cummins diesel.

We have a short video too that we will post if we get some time to edit it. Enjoy!

We are one of the few remaining tuning dealers who still tune 1996-2010 Fords. We use SCT as it works best. We tune exclusively via email.

This customer's extra clean 2003 Mustang GT is one of the latest examples of the type of vehicle we work with. It is equipped with a Kenne-Bell positive displacement supercharger. I was easy to tune because the customer had the car in 100% mechanical shape before we attempted to tune it. And it showed! He did a terrific job with it!

We can take on most any vehicle from 1996-2023, except for Ecoboost and speed density. We tune with SCT and can use HP Tuners for 2005-2023 vehicles.

email [email protected] for more info.

We had the pleasure to tune a 1966 Ford Fairlane over the last week. I had a 1966 Fairlane many years ago so these are near and dear to me. Even today, the styling is terrific. This one is equipped with a Coyote 5.0L motor, which I am sure would let it blow the doors off an older 390 GT/A Fairlane. Normally when we tune swaps like these, we see occasional small glitches with mechanical/wiring components. It is such a lot of work, it is very tough to get everything thing 100%. But not this one, everything was perfect and it was easy to tune. The owner did a remarkable job with it. I think it is a work of art! A shot of nitrous is coming to it really soon!

We were happy to attend the 2024 Motor Trend Hot Rod Power Tour at National Trails Raceway in Columbus on a VERY hot day. We discussed entering Rob's turbo Lightning in it, but thankfully (no AC in it) we decided not to.
Tons and tons of cars and trucks and many displays. As we were leaving later in the afternoon, many cars who were part of the tour kept arriving.
I was a bit disappointed being a Ford guy in the times of some of the Fords. There was a Lightning EV, that, if memory serves correct only managed a 13.5. I was guessing it would get into the 12’s. Same for a few Gen 3 Mustang GTs and even one Gen 4 GT we saw, they did not seem to do as well as we expected they would. To be fair, many more we did not see may have done better later on, most ran mid 13’s with terrible 60’s. My own 2018 Ecoboost got a best of 13.7/102 a few years ago (no tune) so I expected a lot better from the 5.0L’s. Owners of manual transmission cars need a lot of practice on launches and quicker shifting. In our opinion, you cannot go wrong with a 10 speed auto.
The photos are of only a few of the vehicles we saw. Enjoy!
