Delaware County District Library

Today, we celebrate 15 years of the Orange Branch Library as part of our Delaware County District Library system! On Saturday, May 14, 2011, the Orange Township community got its first look at the branch. Please stop by today for goodies, giveaways, and surprises, and to wish our staff a very happy anniversary! Thank you to the Orange Township, Delaware County, Ohio Trustees for their proclamation honoring our special day.

Patrons of all ages dropped in to "Ostrander in Bloom" this week and got hands-on creating flower sun catchers, trying flower pounding, and making floral jar bookmarks. The branch was alive with the spirit of spring, with families learning, creating, and connecting together!

Storytimes have been just ducky with some special guest appearances lately by Waddles from The Alpha Group!

We celebrated American Innovators at the Main Street Delaware, Inc. May First Friday! 🚀 To honor inventor and aerospace engineer Lonnie Johnson, we gave away Super Soakers (thanks to the Friends of the Delaware Library!) as part of our station at the COSI - Center of Science and Industry Science Festival. Congrats to our winners! 💦

Fancy clothes and dancing shoes stole the show at Pint-Sized Prom at the Liberty Branch Library! Little partygoers twirled, posed for photos, and enjoyed music, crafts, and light refreshments.

What book have you got lined up for the weekend? It warms our little library hearts to see you all discuss books here each week! You never know, you might find your next read in the comments. 📚

We're very excited for our upcoming COSI - Center of Science and Industry Science Festival partnership next week! Earlier this month, young learners at the Ostrander Branch Library did basic coding with MARIO! If you want more opportunities to play with basic coding, be sure to visit our booths at the Main Street Delaware, Inc. May First Friday next week. We'll have coding, flight, Super Soakers, and everything in between!
