A win is worth 55 points now, and Kyle Larson just took all 76 available out of one weekend at Kansas. Larson leads Denny Hamlin by 26. Christopher Bell is 50 back. Joey Logano 67. After that it gets ugly in a hurry: Tyler Reddick 111, Chase Briscoe 123, Bubba Wallace and Austin Cindric 140, Carson Hocevar 150, William Byron 158, Chase Elliott 161.

Briscoe said it out loud after Kansas. They're going to have to win five or so of the next six races.

Serious question for the people who wanted the old format gone. The points Chase is working exactly the way it should, or it already ended the season in September. Pick one.

Truck Series: Layne Riggs has the wins, Kaden Honeycutt has the season. Honeycutt led 111 of 134 laps at Kansas and won it from the pole.

Honeycutt averages an 8.35 finish across twenty starts. Riggs averages 11.30 across the same twenty races. Fifteen top tens and twelve top fives for Honeycutt, against eleven and ten for Riggs. Riggs still has six wins to three and 734 laps led, the most in the series.

Six trophies or the better season. Riggs or Honeycutt. One name in the comments.

Here is what the broadcast never showed you from Kansas.

On lap 110 Shane van Gisbergen slid up in front of Austin Hill for 26th and put him in the wall. Hill lost two more spots. His spotter Derek Kneeland got on the radio and told him to settle down.

Hill's answer: I don't want to hear it. Honestly, I don't want to freakin' hear it from you. Just spot.

Kneeland had already warned him. You can't keep racing each other like this every week. We're going to have destroyed cars and no finishes. Van Gisbergen finished 24th. Hill finished 26th. Both a lap down.

Serious question for RCR fans. Was Hill right to snap at his spotter, or was Kneeland the only one in that conversation making sense. Pick one.

Kyle Larson led 235 of the 267 laps at Kansas and still had to go take the win back. Chase Briscoe drove by him with 30 to go and led 23 laps before the No. 19 fell apart, and Larson retook the lead on lap 261 to beat Austin Cindric by 0.565 seconds. Maximum weekend points for the No. 5, and the points lead with six races left. We broke down the green-flag pit cycle that set the whole finish up.

NASCAR Cup Series: the fastest car in the sport finally won one. Kyle Larson led 235 of 267 laps at Kansas, the biggest share of any race in 2026.

Larson has led 1,114 laps this season, more than anyone in the Cup Series, and has two wins to show for it. Tyler Reddick has led 524 laps, fewer than half of Larson's, and has five wins. Larson has paced three races in 2026. Kansas was the first one he closed out.

Two. That is how many straight Las Vegas Cup races Denny Hamlin has won.

He took the South Point 400 there last October for career win number 60. He came back in March, ate a mid-race speeding penalty, drove back through the field and won the Pennzoil 400 anyway. Sunday the Chase goes back to Las Vegas for race five of ten.

Hamlin rolls in second in points, 26 behind Kyle Larson, off a third-place run at Kansas. He is the only driver in this field who has won the last two there.

We are going with the 11.

Serious question for Hendrick fans. Does Hamlin take the points lead back at a track he owns right now, or does Larson keep rolling after what he just did at Kansas. One name in the replies.

Thirty laps to go at Kansas. Chase Briscoe had run down Kyle Larson, cleared him, and had the lead in a race Larson had controlled from the drop of the green.

Seven laps to go, Larson had it back.

Then Briscoe got into the wall with three or four to go and dropped from second to fourth at the line. Crew chief James Small after: I'm not sure what happened at the end. Got in the wall a few too many times there and it kind of fell apart like a $2 watch.

Fourth was Briscoe's best finish of the Chase. He still lost 36 more points to Larson and sits 123 back with six races left.

Serious question for Briscoe fans. Was that a driver squeezing every bit out of the car, or a guy who overdrove the one shot he had. Tell us which.

Brad Keselowski said Carson Hocevar's day was coming and it was coming hard. Three weeks later Hocevar had to stand there and defend him.

Lap 123 restart at Kansas. Hocevar's No. 77 got loose, darted right into Ty Gibbs, came back across the track and collected Bubba Wallace, Erik Jones, Josh Berry and Zane Smith. Six cars. Chase Briscoe's crew chief James Small said on the radio that Keselowski got into Hocevar and got him loose. The payback everybody has been waiting on since Darlington looked like it had finally landed.

Then Hocevar killed the theory himself. He said it looked like him and the 54 going for the same spot, and that Gibbs was in his blind spot. Asked if Keselowski triggered it: no, I don't think so. Keselowski's version was I gave him a push, and then they started wrecking to my right.

Hocevar finished 33rd, three laps down, and fell from eighth to 11th in the Chase, 150 points out.

Serious question for Spire fans. Did Hocevar just tell the truth, or did he pass on a free excuse because owning it is the whole brand now. Pick one.
