Yesterday the new officials at Child Protection that took over in March came to visit. We had a very positive meeting and those that came for the first time loved our home. I took Josue to meet them but as soon as he found out that Shelby & Ryleigh weren't there he politely greeted everyone then asked he if could be excused. 🤣🤣 He must've heard us discussing their next visit so was confused about when. We dare not tell him that they are visiting until our gate is opening because 10 minutes is too long❤️ Kiki the lady in charge now remembered your babies from the photo in our lobby. She teared up when she found out that we are still in touch.

We have received 2 new cribs, so we now need mattresses for them. We have updated the list to include them, and they are currently on sale. There is also an option on our list to add money to our gift card fund, and we can use that to purchase if multiple people want to contribute a partial amount.

What a busy and wonderfully blessed week we shared with our dear friends from Hamby Baptist Church!

They arrived on Tuesday afternoon and immediately settled in with our children, enjoying supper together and beginning what would become a very special few days. After the children were tucked into bed, Ronnie and I even enjoyed some much-needed quiet adult time on the porch—a rare and treasured blessing!

The next morning, after breakfast, the men wasted no time getting to work. They began installing siding on what will one day become the assistant’s house, making tremendous progress throughout their stay. Precious jjjjjjjjjjj was her husband's personal assistant and she also worked very hard.

Meanwhile, the ladies brought sewing machines and spent hours teaching our children how to cut patterns and use sewing machines. It was incredible to watch! For those of you who know Albin, you’ll appreciate this—he sat and sewed for over TWO HOURS straight, which meant absolutely no mischief during that time! 🤣 The children were so proud to wear the shorts they learned to make with their own hands.

Music filled the home as well. The children loved playing the piano, strumming guitars, and singing songs to Jesus alongside this precious church family. The ladies also graciously finished all the aprons I had started sewing quite some time ago but never managed to complete. What a gift that was!

One of the sweetest things was watching the ladies help brush and style the girls’ hair each morning. It’s funny how our children suddenly “forget” how to comb their hair whenever guests arrive! 😂😂

Each evening, everyone gathered together for devotions after supper. Every day was full from beginning to end—building, sewing, music, fellowship, games, and meaningful conversations. There was always something happening, and it made for a truly joyful and fulfilling time. The snow cones were also a huge hit and provided some much-needed relief from the summer heat!

But truthfully, this visit was about so much more than sewing projects, construction work, musical instruments, snow cones, or even devotions.

It was about brothers and sisters in Christ. It was about moms, dads, grandparents, and children investing in our children. It was about giving them the one-on-one attention, encouragement, affection, and care that helps bring healing to young hearts. Those moments matter more than words can express.

The children from Hamby Baptist Church were such a blessing as well. Friendships were formed, memories were made, and when it came time to say goodbye, nobody wanted the visit to end. We are already looking forward to welcoming them back again.

The house looks beautiful—not only on the inside, but now on the outside as well! When they return, they plan to help paint the exterior, and we are excited to continue the project together.

As an added blessing, every child received their own sewing kit, which will be put to good use for years to come. The church also donated a sewing machine so the children can continue learning valuable sewing skills and even make some of their own clothing in the future.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you, Hamby Baptist Church. Your love, generosity, servant hearts, and investment in our children have left a lasting impact. We are deeply grateful for each one of you and look forward to the day we can welcome you back home again.

THANK YOU for praying. Child protection did a thorough investigation before releasing these precious siblings. Last night the siblings left with a member of their family that we are convinced will do their best to help raise them. Please continue to pray for them & one has autism so hard to process everything. 🙏♥️🙏

URGENT PRAYER request. Two little children are on their way to our shelter. This involved a family murder and su***de so a traumatic situation BUT GOD!!!🙏🙏😢🙏🙏
