Today we have a free and very informative presentation brought to you by Mental Health Committee of Del Rio CHIC - Community Health Improvement Coalition - Del Rio it is open to the community and family. Please join us at the Southwest Texas College at Del Rio in the auditorium at 6pm today.

Overview of Presentation:
Project iGuardian™ is presented by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), the primary investigative arm of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Project iGuardian is designed to inform students, parents, educators, and law enforcement about the risks that children face in the online environment.

This engaging presentation will cover tactics used by adult predators online, the growing crime of sextortion, the information devices give away about you and your child, and the newest apps, online games, and social networks children are using. There will also be example scenarios based on local investigations to help attendees better understand how children can be victimized online.

Presenter Bio:
Kara Kocurek is a Special Agent with Homeland Security Investigations. She has been employed as such since September 2022. Although she investigates a wide variety of federal crimes, she primarily focuses on crimes against children, including child exploitation. As a Special Agent, she focuses on identifying and rescuing victims of exploitation.

Kara Kocurek will be joined by her fellow partners, also dedicated to the investigations of such crimes.
