Joaquin J. Taylor

He is the son of Diego Taylor and Vanessa Jones.

In the fall, he will be attending Abilene Christian University where he will major in Mechanical Engineering. His goal is to graduate from Abilene Christian University with honors, continue his education with earning a master’s degree, and eventually open his own engineering firm. He has obtained 30 college hours and took 7 AP classes. He was a member of the National Honor Society, Robotics, National Technical Honor Society, Cross Country, Track and Field, and Boy Scouts of America Troop 255. His officer positions include Robotics Drive Team and Senior Patrol Leader with Troop 255. His total scholarships amount is $46,630.06. His favorite high school memory is when the Robotics Team 4063, TrikzR4Kidz, was selected as an alliance partner for finals at FRC World Championships in Houston, TX. He would like to thank his parents for always pushing him to be his best and keeping him going when he wanted to stop. They would put him back together when he crashed or fell apart.

Troop 255 Takes on Sonora Caverns!

Troop 255 packed up, headed out, and spent the weekend on an overnight campout at the Caverns of Sonora!

The boys got to explore underground caverns, camp under the Texas sky, and hang out with friends.

These are the adventures that make Scouting so fun: exploring new places, learning new skills, building friendships, and making memories they’ll be talking about long after the tents are packed up.

Great job, Scouts! Another adventure in the books.

Today, Scouts from Troop 255 had the honor of helping place flags at San Felipe and Loma de la Cruz Cemeteries in remembrance of Memorial Day.

This meaningful service project was hosted by American Legion Post 595, and we are grateful for the opportunity to stand alongside our local veterans and community members in honoring the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

Memorial Day is more than a long weekend. It is a time to pause, remember, and teach the next generation the importance of service, sacrifice, and respect.

Thank you to American Legion Post 595 for hosting and allowing our Scouts to be part of such a special tradition.

🇺🇸 We remember. We honor. We are grateful.

Last weekend at Camporee, showed up ready to work, lead, and represent.

Proud of these Scouts for stepping up, pushing themselves, and making memories that’ll last way longer than the muddy boots. Camporee weekends are more than camping. They build confidence, leadership, grit, teamwork, and the kind of friendships you don’t get from a screen.

From early mornings to late campfire laughs, this crew did what they always do... showed character and had each other’s backs.

Big thank you to the leaders, volunteers, and families who make these experiences possible.

Proud to support and all the young men growing into strong leaders. 💪🏕️🔥

Huge thank you to the Lions Club for your continued partnership and for giving our Scouts the opportunity to give back to the Del Rio community in a meaningful way.

Proud of these Scouts and the example they’re setting 👏

We are so proud of our Troop 255 leadership 👏🎉

We had the honor of attending the Amistad District Awards Banquet, and it was an incredible afternoon celebrating the people who pour so much into our Scouts.

Huge congratulations to our Scoutmaster, Randy Davis, on being named Scoutmaster of the Year, a well-deserved recognition for the leadership, dedication, and heart you bring to this troop.

And congratulations to Zachary Davis, our Assistant Scoutmaster, on receiving the District Award of Merit, an honor given to adult volunteers who go above and beyond at the district level. This speaks volumes about your commitment and impact.

We are incredibly lucky to be part of a troop with leaders like this. 👏🙏⚜️
