Something new… 🪷 Thank you to those that took the time to stop by, chat for a bit, and support my work this past Saturday at the Earth Day event. It means a lot. 💚

I did this illustration back in 2023, but never posted it. Right now it feels more than relevant to post, so I added some finishing touches to share it with you guys. 🌄

Big Bend National Park is one the most biologically diverse arid regions on the world, supporting more than 1,2000 species of plants, over 400 species of birds, 75 species of mammals, 56 species of reptiles, 40 species of fish, 11 species of amphibians, and about 3,600 species of insects. Big Bend National Park is known as a biosphere reserve due to its rich diversity and cultural history. It also preserves 130 million years of geological evidence like sea fossils, dinosaur bones, and volcanic formations. On top of that, Big Bend is one of the darkest and best places to stargaze in North America due to the limited light pollution in the area.

We don’t want or need the border wall. We want to preserve our lands.

Let’s help protect Big Bend National Park and ALL public lands!! 🏞️

With the recent news, I had to share some of my work inspired by one of my favorite places in Texas. Big Bend National Park holds a very special place in my heart for so many reasons. ❤️‍🩹

Hearing about the potential border wall being built through Big Bend National Park and the surrounding areas makes my heart heavy. As a wildlife conservation student, I know this will be devastating to the ecosystem. As an artist, I want to bring awareness.

The Department of Homeland Security is planning to construct 175 miles of a border barrier in the Big Bend region. The DHS waved 28 federal laws to speed up construction. These laws were put in place to protect these natural lands.

It has been proven that these border barriers:
- Damage cultural sites and tribal burials
- Disrupt natural wildlife migration and vital habitats
- Alter water flow which can contribute to flooding
- Damage underground water systems

Here’s what you can do to help (Links in my bio):
- Sign the petition to stop the construction
- Contact your representatives
- Speak out and bring awareness
- Stay informed

HUGE THANKS TO for all their information and their accesible website!! Please give them a follow if you’d like to stay informed.

Sometimes life takes a different path, so we can find ourselves again. My art is still very much alive (mainly through photography these days), but I also started working on this little nature journal since starting my Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Conservation. I can’t guarantee I’ll be posting consistently, but I do want to try. Maybe I’ll start off small again. 🌱

📔Really liking my journal from 😌

Hello everyone,

It has been an incredibly difficult choice, but I’ve decide that I will be ceasing my journey as an artist for a while… I’ve come to realize that my current path is not aligning with the personal journey that I’m entering, which is requiring most of my energy. Growing up my dream was to become a successful artist, but I never realized how negatively it would impact my life. The expectations of wanting to be a “successful” artist fell heavy on me. I enjoyed creating on my terms as a way of expressing & comping certain emotions, but having those expectations of having to constantly create in order to be seen as “successful” as well as forcing myself into a box I didn’t fit inside, changed what it truly meant to be an artist for me. I just wanted to take the time to thank every single person that supported me along the way, and to anyone who ever allowed me the opportunity to create. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I will always be grateful for that. Younger me is very much proud of what I accomplished as an artist. I still plan on creating from time to time, but without any hard expectations. Who knows, maybe I’ll be able to get back into it with time. For now this is farewell…

P.S. it’s okay to outgrow versions of yourself to allow room for new growth.

Much love, Marcissimo ❤️‍🩹

Hello, I made some very minor changes to my logo as I’m working on my identity branding at the moment. I’m finally getting a feel for what I want my artwork to consist of, although it may continue to evolve over the years. I’ve got a couple of ideas I’m hoping I can get out soon.. I’m hoping to do a full shop update as well sometime this year! As always, thank you for sticking around. Much love -Marcissimo 🫶🏻

May is Mental Health Awareness Month! I wanted to do something digital to help bring awareness, as this is something that is very personal to myself. 1 in 4 people struggle with mental health issues. More than 700,000 people die due to su***de every year. If you are struggling, don’t be afraid to ask for help. Don’t forget that the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline number is 988, and you can talk or text with someone at any time! 💚

Before the night ends, happy ! A lot of my inspiration and references come from Mother Earth herself and the life she holds. The earth is a beautiful place. 🌎🌱💚
