VERMOUTH IS NOT LIQUOR
Vermouth is a fortified wine and should be treated as such. Unlike full-proof spirits, it does not have the same shelf life or stability. Once opened, the clock starts ticking. Proper refrigeration and storage can slow oxidation and preserve quality, but they cannot stop it.

The genealogy of rum and Munyon's told through the palate. From medicine to modern riffs, stories almost lost to history but kept alive in not in pages but in pours.
“Rick Rose reveals the captivating story of how Palm Beach earned its name—and reflects on his 2024 Providencia Award. Don’t miss Southern Sips today—immerse yourself in the legacy of Providencia!”
When the Providencia ran aground off Palm Beach, it wasn’t just another shipwreck—it carried a cargo that would quietly shape South Florida’s identity… coconuts.
After the wreck, many of those coconuts were salvaged and sold for about 20 cents apiece. Some weren’t just eaten—they were intentionally planted along the shoreline, helping establish the very first coconut groves in the area.
What started as cargo from a wreck turned into a movement—spreading up and down the coast and becoming a defining symbol of Palm Beach and South Florida. 🌴
From shipwreck… to shoreline… to culture.
Here’s the story told by Rick Rose, Mr. Palm Beach.
Before the mansions and palm-lined estates of Palm Beach… there was a shipwreck that changed everything.
In 1878, the Providencia, a Spanish vessel loaded with coconuts, ran aground off the coast. What seemed like a disaster turned into opportunity—those coconuts were salvaged and planted along the shoreline.
That single moment helped transform a barren stretch of land into the iconic tropical paradise we know today.
From wreckage… to legacy 🌴
Here’s the story told by Rick Rose, Mr. Palm Beach—recipient of the Providencia Award, one of the region’s highest honors in tourism.
