Happy Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day!

So happy my schedule lined up to allow me to hit the polls today for early voting! I’ve been voting for over 40 years and have never felt the “come hell or high water” importance to show up for our 2024 elections like I do now. This Georgia election is focusing on issues for the State of Georgia- education, judicial, housing, reproductive rights, and gun laws to name a few. Anyone who cares about what’s happening in this state, especially under represented citizens, PLEASE make the time to vote too.

During Black Maternal Health Week, we focus on the healthcare disparities that result in a 3X higher death rate for Black mothers. .

As we kick off Black Maternal Health Week, it is important to remember that Black women are 3x likely to die from pregnancy-related complications that are preventable, than their White counterparts. We must advocate for equitable access to quality prenatal care, culturally-competent support, and systems that prioritizes the well-being of Black mothers and their babies. Together, we can strive for a future where every woman receives the care and respect she deserves. #blackmaternalhealth #BMHW #BMHW24 #bmhw

(In 2106 this same device was $600) Unfortunately, self pay women do not have low cost options for this hormone-free method that is one of the most effective methods of contraception . Consider getting involved with a women advocacy group to maintain your rights! Make noise, demand fair affordable care.
