These were not visible from the ground. Defect did not show until I was on the roof.
2 yr old house.
Video of under a nicely renovated 1920 home where a water connection was dripping behind the water heater. It was a slow drip, however it was way more widespread than originally thought.
Warranty Inspection. Even great homes can have something significant.
*Side note, driving to this house this morning in adjacent neighborhood, I saw one of these caps/spark arrestors melted and black from a chimney fire. Please have your chimney swept by a qualified individual before building a fire next season.
