First day in the books for Vintage Market Days of Birmingham Metro! And wow! What a great crowd! Definitely glad that I went with more vintage with some of my crafts— which is the opposite of how I started! Gotta work myself a system for such, as it’s just exhausting. I KNOW people hate things without prices— that is where I need to change things. But… of those who asked? Only one didn’t buy the item— the rest were quick to say “here, take my money” lol
Hope to walk around some in the morning, if I’m able to haha!
So many wonderful vendors and I saw a LOT of cool things that people were carrying around.
Tomorrow! Doors open at 9, close at 4! Rinse and repeat for Saturday!

Well…. With some help from Emily, I’ve got about 3/4 of the booth finished — perhaps a bit more! Joseph and JT helped figure out the table bracket— but not sure now if I can use it. Ugh! Will try in the morning.
Sooooooo many cool things at this event— I think this Vintage Market Days of Birmingham Metro may be their best yet— especially with vintage goodies!
Show starts tomorrow at 3! Friday and Saturday, 9-4. I’m on the first aisle to the right— next to long time vendors/ the Sandersons from around Moulton.
Two pics— the before when I had displays in place… and when Emily and I left— with a few boxes left to put out.

Off to Vintage Market Days of Birmingham Metro to finish setting up! Have given away quite a few of free truckers this week— will be leaving four on my porch if anyone else in this area wants one! Hours are 3-8 tomorrow, 9-4 Friday and Saturday af the Finley Center in Hoover!
(Random sunset from Saturday — what do you see in the clouds?)

Wrapping up your merchandise for Vintage Market Days of Birmingham Metro might turn a few heads on the way…. As it definitely looks like I’m taking someone who was unwilling to go lol

Looks like Mary and Joseph are looking for an Inn fairly early! After they get a good bath to get rid of their dust… they’ll be at the Vintage Market Days of Birmingham Metro, looking for a permanent residence! (baby Jesus is in tow, just not seen 🙂

Welp…. If one ever thinks “she just does craft shows, she’s got an easy job, doesn’t have to work during the week, can sit and craft when she feels like it, then go do a show for 3-4 days and she’s done— no 40 hour work week like the rest of us”…. I’d beg to differ with them on a few points!!!
The one thing that would be correct… is that I can sit and craft. And I have weeks that i may not work on things, but for the most part? It’s not as easy as it seems!
Rain like what we’ve had last night and currently? Can really mess things up— as even brand new tents can collapse if water pools just the “right” way. Or your tent just slowly wears down… and it drips inside in places it’s never dripped before. And this doesn’t even include high winds that can take out half of a shows tents— it’s truly not for the faint of heart.
Whenever you hear a crafter or artist say “it’s an easy show”… it’s usually because it’s not outdoors, the hours are good, the promoters are wonderful … and there’s good sales haha. “It’s a relatively easy show”— can be about the same but one of those factors don’t apply.
Right now, we are at about minute 57 of the “48 minutes until rain stops” lol. We can use forecasts but the weather is gonna weather regardless! Patty and Penny are in the front tents, checking for pools of water and drops, I’m in the back tent— that thank the Lord I came back last night to check on them, got out the huge watermelon sized water puddle that surely would have caused the tent to collapse, lowered it down, and stuck the one tall thing that we had, a rake, to shore up one side to prevent puddling. It’s worked fairly well, but it’s been raining non stop since 8 am. Ugh.
This IS something I signed up for (we hear that too, if someone asks if we had damage or losses from the rain… and their husband will pipe up with a “you knew this was a possibility when you signed up for an outdoor show”… to which we just smile and say “yes sir, we try to prepare and sometimes even that doesn’t help. We also know it could be sunshiny and 95 degrees too”. Which both have happened this week haha!
Once it quits raining, I, like 399 other vendors here, will be pulling off tarps, drying things off and hoping for the best. I am a wet mess… lots of damp and possibly wet tablecloths- but hopefully everything underneath those coverings are safe.
We DO love doing what we do… we just dislike nights and days like this!! I’m very appreciative to have two sisters who help me out and don’t even complain! At least not out loud lol. They have my back and remembers things that I forget, even when I forget what they said from the tent to the parking lot (when I thought my iPad and cash was at the air bnb) haha… they’re the best!
All that said!—- if you’re in the area… come out to Stone Mountain park today! Your pass in will get you in for the laser show too! From what I’ve seen of the show— it’s a great variety of things to see and start on early Christmas shopping!

No overall photos but will tomorrow… sent the sisters home so I could finish some details— so they closed all the walla. But. To not have had a whole plan because I don’t think I’ve ever had ALLLL this space because I’ve usually shared the space with someone— it’s turned out pretty decent and I’ve actually got a few things that I didn’t put out— due to a LACK of space! I really needed another tall shelf. Next year! lol
Daisy Festival Stone Mountain Park starts tomorrow at 9 am! Booths 212-214!
We can’t wait! Now it’s just over a week away!

Welp…. Gonna show the mess that I hope is no longer a mess by this time tomorrow. Or maybe even bedtime. lol
Normally… I do all my drilling outside. Drilling globes, of which I’ve made three, makes a huge mess— and most of it was cleaned up yesterday morning and cardboard pieces sent out to the recycling bin!!! It’s just too hot outside to do it on the porch or out back like normal. It’s almost too hot INSIDE- as our window air conditioner went out— and I’m making do by cringeering an exhaust system on a portable AC unit (didn’t show the lovely duct tape on the unit itself to keep a too-small clip on it lol)— and found that the cut slats actually holds the too-large pipe in place. Showed it to Mike, and he said it looked like a bow— since I stuffed the open areas with bubble wrap. lol. Ain’t nobody got time for that!!! Hahaha. Hopefully Friday means a new window air conditioner!
ANYWAY!!!! I hope to have a record number of thermos bottle soap
Dispensers, there’s 3 Atlanta Braves batting helmet lights…. Have hopes to secure a UGA football helmet light to go along with the AU and UA helmet lights! Even found another Darth Vader figure holder to make into a clock!
Looking forward to turning this mess— into fun new treasures for your home or to give as the most unique Christmas gifts that someone might get!
