2nd grade warm and cool jellyfish!

Coming soon! First and fifth grade projects! Silly birds and paper weaving!

Fourth graders took their paint warm&cool paper and put a Notan on top. Notan is a Japanese Art of creating black and white images using positive and negative space. Space is an element of Art - positive is something that takes up space and negative is the space around the object.

Almost ready!! Our first exhibit of the year should be all hung this week! It’s on the element of Art, Color, warm and cool. Part 1 - name party (K), collages of animals
Kinders used line, shape and color with crayon and then learned of warm&cool colors, watercolor and the salt!
2nd did aquatic animals and 3rd did wacky land animals!

Fourth and fifth graders are much more complicated. Fourth has learned about notan, Japanese Art of black & white/positive and negative SPACE, another element of Art. Our fifth graders are making paper weavings, using their warm & cool paintings along with other 1/2” strips.

We are almost ready for our first gallery exhibit this year! We’ve studied warm and cool colors while exploring a variety of techniques and subject matter. You will definitely want to check all of these projects out!! 2nd are making aquatic animals, 3rd are making land animals, and 1st are making wacky birds.

Kinders are having a name party, filled with colors, shapes and lines. They will add warm or cool watercolor.
First grade will make silly, warm birds on cool backgrounds.
Second are making warm aquatic animals - turtles, fish and jellyfish.
Third are making land animals - llamas, ostriches, and bears.
Fourth will make black notan positive/negative shapes to show off the warm/cool colors.
And fifth will make a paper weaving with their papers.
Our next unit will be on Hispanic Heritage.

Welcome back to another COLOR-FULL year at Woodmeade! We have stared off the year learning about color, rainbow order, primary/secondary colors and Warm & Cool colors!
Each grade levels has its own project created on top of a kinetic crayon drawing - - Whaaat?!
