For The Mama's

When it comes to social media I am incredibly private & prefer not to share as much about my family. However, today is Mother's Day and in light of such a special day I want to share why The Mama's has been on pause for over a year...

Last year Mother's Day looked completely different...

I was pregnant and expecting our 2nd child (a son) & about 28 weeks into the pregnancy we lost him to a stillbirth. There are absolutely no words to describe how devastating this loss felt, but as devastating as this loss was I remember being in the hospital room the next morning & the sun coming in through the blinds...

& God reminding me I will never leave you, nor forsake you. Which is this deep assurance that He will never be absent even in the most difficult of times.

After the hospital I remember talking to my mom and her praying a scripture over me...

Romans 8:28 & it reminds God's people that He works all things out for the good of those that love him and called according to His purpose...

During my healing journey I was told by my therapist to lean into the grief, & so I did...

My mother has recited that scripture to me since I've been young () BUT this time it penetrated in ways I couldn't have imagined & soI lingered in the presence of the Lord longer than I ever had...

& He whispered a name to me...

Benjamin. (Son of my strength)

Yet another reminder that when I am weak, then I am strong (2 Cor 12:10).
& our earthly limitations couldn't even compare to who God is and what He can do in our lives.

& 3 months later I was pregnant again.

& today our son Benjamin Gunner Malone is here.

I'm sharing this story, because I pray it can give one woman a measure of hope & to serve as a reminder that if you've ever experienced this kind of loss as a mother...

You are seen, you are known and you are loved...

Believe me when I tell you God is faithful.

Draw nearer to Him. ♥️

And I want to especially thank The Mama's who showed up for me in one of my darkest hours.

All of you are truly a reflection of God's grace & love in my life.

This one was so beautiful, because I've been shooting Lauren for a few years and to be able to capture such a special moment in her life was amazing.
