When to expect EITC refunds

The IRS expects most early Earned Income Tax Credit or Additional Child Tax Credit refunds to be available in taxpayer bank accounts or debit card by March 2, 2026, if they choose direct deposit and there are no other issues with the return. Some taxpayers may have access to their refunds sooner depending on their financial institution’s process.

Where’s My Refund? will be updated with projected deposit dates for most early EITC/ACTC refund filers by Feb. 21, 2026.

The Internal Revenue Service announced Monday, January 26, 2026, as the opening of the nation’s 2026 filing season. This year, several new tax law provisions of the One, Big, Beautiful Bill become effective, which could impact federal taxes, credits and deductions.

Taxpayers have until Wednesday, April 15, 2026, to file their 2025 tax returns and pay any tax due. The IRS expects to receive about 164 million individual income tax returns this year, with most taxpayers filing electronically.

***we have to have your permission to file you an extension…even if we have prepared your return for years I need to hear from you via email to extend.

An extension is for extending time to file NOT time to pay. Payment should be sent with extension to avoid additional penalties and interest

We will begin setting up appointments or completing extended returns in a couple of weeks. The sooner we get all documents and information the sooner we can complete your return so go ahead and get info to us.
