The Battle for Decatur is held on Labor Day weekend every year at Point Mallard Park in Decatur, Alabama.

Mark your calendars for September 4-6 2026 for “The Battle For Decatur” reenactment at Point Mallard Park.
Friday September 4th is an educational day; open to schools, private schools & homeschooled students and their chaperones. The School Day program will start at 9:30 in the open-air chapel.
Saturday & Sunday September 5&6 we are open to the public. Camp visits can start at 10:00am and the reenactment begins at 2:00pm.
The Ladies Tea starts Saturday September 5th at 11:30AM in the open-air chapel.

The 160th (40th Anniversary) Battle for Decatur
August 31 & September 1, 2024.
Camp visits start a 10:00 and Battles at 2:00
Map shows the layout for the event, and the location of registration (for re-enactors), sutlers, camps, and parking. Numbering the camp areas should also help with directions for those looking for their unit’s camp. Port-a-Johns will be placed at various locations.
