Before Meals on Wheels and the OWLS Activity Center, she was facing poor nutrition and too much time alone. Regular meal deliveries, friendly wellness checks, group meals, and activities helped her rebuild strength, make new friends, and feel connected again.

As organizational records put it, “Mary’s participation in the OWLS Activity Center has not only improved her social well-being but has also given her a renewed sense of purpose and belonging.” More than 90% of participants report increased social engagement and reduced isolation. That is what these programs mean for seniors across Wise County.
