A little , some steel wool, and a few hours of time....and I've polished up most of the original brass hardware, k***s, locksets, etc in our in Haynes Manor.
Some people think its chore, but I kinda enjoy it, cleaning and saving the "jewelry" of the old house.

We learned of the passing of our close friend and early client, Jeremy Rhett this past weekend. Jeremy's son and my older son were friends from a very early age, and thru the kids we got to know one of the most interesting and dynamic families I can think of now.

We often attended his concerts and parties.

I remember one Christmas party at our house where Chris Neff came and started playing Christmas songs on the piano. Jeremy asked to borrow my old acoustic guitar and joined in.

The 2 didn't know each other from Adam, and yet, both guys were total musical savants. They both recognized each others genius quickly and ...well... it was like a musical explosion that night...they played all sorts of Christmas songs for everyone till late in the evening. What a fun night! A cherished memory indeed.

We will miss Jeremy and his giving spirit, and I hope the Rhett family finds some peace and clarity in these days.

Taking measured drawings today of the Benjamin Gachet House outside of Barnesville, Georgia was a great chance to get out of the big city.
We are working with our clients on a multi-phase renovation of the house, new outbuildings, and a master plan for the preservation of the property.
Interesting fact...Marquis Lafayette stayed here in 1824 when he visited Georgia on his way to the (then) state Capital...

Work on Manor Ridge renovation in the heart of Haynes Manor is progressing quickly this week.
Bathroom floors reframed, electrical rough for main floor set plumbing rough set for both floors and the HVAC tear out of ALL (both floors and basement!!!) the old ductwork is progressing.
Gotta get messy before it gets pretty, as I always say!
