🌎✨ What a FUN day at JHES! Our Multicultural Fair took our Challengers on a trip around the world without ever leaving school! ✈️🌍

Students learned, explored, and celebrated the cultures of Japan, Mexico, India, China, and Yemen—and had an absolute blast doing it! 🇯🇵🇲🇽🇮🇳🇨🇳🇾🇪

A HUGE thank-you to Mrs. Engle for leading this event and all of our amazing volunteers, families, and staff who shared their time, talents, traditions, and love to make today happen. ❤️ We truly are Better Together!

📚 JHES Library This Week! 📚

Our readers were BUSY this week! 💕📖

📚 347 books checked out + 88 renewals
⭐ 575 AR tests passed
🤯 1,006,920 words read THIS WEEK!

That brings our schoolwide total to 7,359,345 words! 🎉 We are now 73.6% of the way to 10 MILLION, which means we only need 2,640,655 more words to unlock HAT DAY! 🧢🎩👒

And our Top 10 checkouts are changing, too! 👀 Pizza and Taco are still dominating the shelves, but we have some new titles sneaking into the rankings!

Keep reading, JHES! Every book, every AR test, and every word gets us closer to our 50 MILLION WORD goal. 💗💛💙

📖 Books build brighter futures! 📖

🍎🍏 Our first graders had an
APPLE-SOLUTELY delicious way to wrap up their apple unit! They put their learning to the taste test with an Apple Tasting Party! They sampled many different apple treats and had so much fun learning along the way. 😋🍎

💛 Wearing yellow today to stand with children and families impacted by childhood cancer. We wear it for HOPE, for STRENGTH, and for a CURE.🎗️

🎻✨ Making music and making memories! Our 3rd graders had an amazing opportunity this week to learn the violin. From first notes to big smiles, they were discovering that music is all about practice, patience, and having fun!

We love giving our Challengers opportunities to try something new and discover talents they didn’t know they had! 🎶🎻

📚 Our JHES readers have been BUSY!

This week alone, students checked out 232 books, passed 671 AR tests, and read an incredible 1,394,293 words! 🤯📖

That brings our schoolwide total to 6,156,602 words this year—and we’re already 61.6% of the way to our first 10-million-word milestone!

🧢 When we hit 10 MILLION WORDS, it’s HAT DAY!

And check out those Top 10 books! Apparently Pizza and Taco have quite the fan club at JHES. 😂🌮🍕

Keep reading, JHES! 10 million, here we come! ❤️📚

There’s just something special about seeing our hallways filled with families, smiling faces, and lots of excitement for another year at JHES!
